Do DAS advance selections have the 5/15 grace period like LL?

Title says it all - does anyone know if there is the 5 minute early/15 minute late grace period with DAS Advance selections?

We have never tried outside our hour. I have read on here that some people were able to go outside the hour but others weren’t so I guess it varies but I have personally not tried it early or late. If we miss it we miss it completely. Prescheduled times don’t work well for me a lot of the time. But I will be curious to see what others have experienced

Yeah, I'm guessing we are going to miss a bunch of ours too. Some of them I can almost predict we will miss because there was very little choice over time options. I'm not complaining at all. It just seems like the same-day option will work much better.

We barely used our pre-selections - I think of them as perks that come with pre-registration, and don't really mind if we miss them. I might not even make any next time, as they rarely fit into the way I can do the parks.

Same. We used maybe 1/4 of the pre selections due to the times they were scheduled. It was fine.

There have been times I used them several hours after they were scheduled. Now I travel solo so that may have helped… don’t know. And I tend to access the less “competitive” attractions lol… think Winnie the Pooh.

YMMV

The 5 minute early grace period worked for our pre-selections. We didn't try the 15 minute grace period at the end, but I'd assume it would work since the 5 minute early did.

Not sure that we tried any early, but we used a bunch late. And I only got a comment once (at Soaring I think) to try to be a little more on time next time as we were probably 4-5 hours late. I only tried a few late after I had a few I missed so I booked a regular day of return time and when I used it, I could not book another because it used the pre booked one and not the current (which I then cancelled to book something else). I had that scenario happen more than once, so I figured I would just show up late if needed and as I said, it worked every time (and only the one time was something said).

I kind of agree with this as we rarely use our pre selections, so now I try to pick stuff that breaks down a lot. That can turn a random preselection into any any experience any time selections. Splash mountain needs upkeep? But won't get it because it's being redone? Pick a splash every day. Think we ended up getting like six this past week.

That's weird - ours always dropped off the app once they expired.

It was at the end of September that I was there. As I said, I booked an in park return time since I knew we missed the pre-selected (probably by about an hour or two) one for Test Track. When we went to Test Track, I scanned in as usual, and then went to look for another ride to schedule for the DAS and I could not schedule one. So, I started looking at the app and discovered it took the pre-selected time and not the current one I had booked in the park. Once I cancelled that one, I was able to book a new time. So, I kind of stumbled onto it working by accident. I tried a few more times the rest of our vacation with no issues. I figured it was a fluke the first time, so I did the book an in park one again when I missed a pre-selected time and it happened again.

The agent booking me now says we need to be able to check in within 1 hour of our return time.

I’m getting a bunch of morning times so it would be nice if the flexibility to arrive late is really there. But as with most things I’ll just consider it pixie dust if it happens

We kind of did the same, though unintentionally. Nearly all of our preselections were temporarily shutdown during our times, or in at least one case with Jungle Cruise, it was shutdown for hours before and back up by our time, but they pre-emptively issued us passes (maybe to counteract the inevitable backlog? not sure). That was a nice surprise, especially since we weren't likely to make many of our preselections anyway.

We've never used it more than 10 minutes late, but the few times we were a couple minutes over were fine.

That is what I was told before my trip and when I booked too. And then it worked after, so not really sure?
The 5 minute grace period at the beginning is just to account for people’s watches not matching the clock at the attraction. We always wait until the attraction clock matches our start time - I have heard people told by attraction CMs they need to wait until their actual start time, so we just figure it’s not worth it to be told to wait 5 more minutes. It may be more of an issue at some attractions than other.

The DAS Advance Selections are supposed to expire at the end of the one hour window, so if it’s there after the window is expired, it’s a glitch, not a feature. Sooner or later, I expect the glitch will fixed, so plan to use them within the window or just let them expire.

My family has done 3 trips now with DAS Advance Selections. Sometimes they dropped off right at the end of the hour window, and sometimes they didn’t - so you can’t count on a 15 minute grace period.
If it’s still showing up in your ‘Today’s Plans’ when you get to scan in at the attraction, you can use it.
