Do Crowd Calendars Have Any Relation to Reality Right Now?

I ask as DH and I would like to visit one of the last two weeks of March or the first week of April. April (4-8) according to calendars should be least crowded but I’ve found better hotel availability (at least for the ones we like) on March 21-25. We could stay for much less and get Extra Hours at Epcot and MK. Do I go for the hotel or rely on a crowd calendar? Seems like Covid has just scrambled all the algorithms lately.

I don’t rely much on any of them. Take your own guess after looking charts over to get a feel overall. I go expecting crowds and expect even more for holidays and weekends. I’d go with the best choice that saves the most. Go for the hotel and the extra hours.

Personally, I think that whole time frame is going to be extremely busy with spring break. I would book by hotel.

My instinct is spring is packed.

1. park closed almost 2 years ago
2. covid was rampant last spring

2 years of folks pushed to this spring

I assume there’s a summer slowdown, it’s been noted that’s why they’re pushing hard on Galaxy opening

I know it doesnt help in the planning aspect but in the tempering of your expectations of how it will be, the park res calendar is helpful. Right now week of march 13th has completely sold out of all parks on monday and all the other parks but Epcot the rest of the week except oddly enough that Friday and Saturday. Safe to say that week is gonna be a 10 every day for sure.

It went all yellow basically a week or so ago. We have no clue what the actual limits are for each park, but its pretty safe to say if a park sells out for park res, its gonna be super busy.

So book when its good for you to go and then hope for the best and start watching the park res calendar closer to your trip to get some kind of an idea on how busy it will be. If parks sell out of res, you know for sure its gonna be crazy.

I am a vote for go when you can, when it's convenient for you and the hotel you want to stay out is available. I do not rely heavily on crowd calendars for decisions other than to help with my park plans to be aware of special events, fireworks, etc. I think from March 10th through Easter it's going to be crowded with some days being significantly worse than others. We've been to WDW in March and April a number of times over the years and my antidotal observation is March always feels busier than April, even when Easter falls in April. Maybe it's the cheer comps or maybe it was international traveling crowds at the time, but March and April are going to be bananas! We go when we can which happens to be spring break and ours is after Easter so that's when we'll be there with the rest of the US. LOL

I'm looking at the wait times daily to try to get feel on which days each park is least crowded.

Hi Everyone,
My wife and I visit WDW once or twice a month since it reopened. Unless you are very patient, the wait times ( no matter what day) now are ridiculous. Yesterday DHS was so busy we did not to wait 70, 90, 120, etc minutes to get on a ride. Last night we went to Epcot and were able to ride Mermaid, “Land” & Figment, but not the major rides. Today at MK we just walked around and left. We will give it a tear and if WDW provide attractions to calm wait times, we may take a year or two off and try something like Seaworld. We are DVC members and we use the points at VB or HHI.
