I'm in the midst of purchasing a contract. I mailed out my deposit on saturday 4/20, so the closing company didn't receive it until that Monday. The same day (4/20) I faxed over my signed contract and deed information to the resale company. I presumed that it would take a few days for the sellers to also sign the contract and that the resale company would wait until the closing company had my deposit in hand.

I waited until the following Wednesday 4/24 to follow up with the resale company to ensure all the paperwork was in order and to inquire as to when it was going to be sent to DVC for ROFR. I was told it was sent to DVC on 4/20 (the same day i faxed it over).

I purchases a resale contract a few years ago so i don't recall the time frame/speed which things move at. I found it odd that literally the same day as i sent over my signed contract that it was off to DVC.

Is this normal? I'm not complaining but i figured the sellers also need to sign and that would take a few days for them to do their part. And to send it off to DVC without my deposit actually being in hand I thought was odd too. Maybe I just don't understand the whole process.

All of our prior resale contracts that we purchased had been sent to ROFR the same day they got our signatures and deposit on my CC. Note: our last resale purchase was last summer.

My most recent resale purchase was last week. Paperwork was electronically signed on Friday. Deposit check was sent the same day. Contract went to ROFR yesterday even though the deposit won’t be delivered until today.

Most get sent same day as long as both buyer and seller get the contracts signed and sent.

Mine just got sent to ROFR today. Our timeline was:
4/22 offer submitted
4/24 offer accepted
4/25 contract signed by buyer (us)
4/30 contract signed by seller
4/30 sent to Disney

Our deposit was on our CC so no need for them to wait for a check.

For our recent purchasing experiences, one was sent to ROFR on the same day when electronic document was signed, and the other was sent 3 days after. Both contracts were from April, 2019. A funny thing is that we made an offer and signed a document later than the one that was sent 3 days after. This one has already passed ROFR.

Both of mine were sent out the day that they had both signed contracts. Before receiving deposit.

We’re closing on a contract now. Here’s how our timeline worked out:
4/5 submitted offer
4/6 counter offers, accepted, signed by seller
4/7 contract signed (electronically) and sent to Disney
4/10 contract updated with 2nd seller’s signature (husband/wife on deed) and resent to Disney
4/16 I got notification (from my broker) that Disney had started the ROFR process.

So to me it seems like electronically signed contracts get sent automatically, and then it takes awhile for Disney to get to them for ROFR.
