Do codes ever apply to Deluxe hotels?

This topic goes back to a very heated discussion going back years on this board. Many people strongly believe that because so many of us call and book these packages at rack rate, TA's do it too, that Disney doesn't release very many discounted rooms... because they think they are full. But then people who can't apply the discount to their package end up canceling, or switching to a cheaper resort, and then rooms start opening up again. Lots of people feel that those of us wanting a discount should wait and not book anything until the codes are released... but people don't want to do that because they are nervous availability won't be good. So it's a vicious circle. I'm not sure what the answer is.

Which code did you use? I'm finding so many that I'm getting confused. I have AP and Disney Visa.

The AP was better than AAA when I priced out. Too bad I don't have an AP and purchasing one isn't worth the savings this time.

Tower or Garden?

Garden. They had no availability with the Tower. My view was garden wing/garden view. My mom's was garden wing/standard view. We had no problem applying to code to either of those.

TigrLvsPooh, I hear you! I know that if I had not already booked my CR room, I wouldn't have gotten with the code because that resort is sold out for my week. I was a little shocked that I could apply the code since there isn't availability for my week (or wasn't this morning). So, it definitely benefitted me to have my reservation already booked.

Thanks for the reply We have tower booked with an AAA discount. I guess I should be thankful that I got some sort of discount. Last year we saved $550 at the Poly GV, it would of been nice to save that much again.
