Hi!
This is a silly question but... do little girls dress up like Princesses on a Cruise? When we were in Disney World and had dinner with Cinderella, almost all young Princesses were sporting the newest in Crown-wear, and such!!!
I'm just wondering if I should pack one of her "dresses" or is a waste of valuable luggage space!!! And if they do, when and where?

princess:

Take the dresses! When we cruised we brought the Belle dress and wore it for the character breakfast and our ALICE dress we wore for tea with Wendy. I saw a lot of little princesses dressed in their deluxe princess costumes for formal night (a win-win situation - formal attire taken care of, and possible halloween as well!).

We have some costumes that are not in great shape and I will let my dd wear them during the day. I don't think you can go wrong by bringing them.

Oh yes!

Xmas morning, especially, the ship was alive with pirates and princesses and galactic warriors galore!

The picture were priceless.

girls will love to wear their princess costumes when they meet the princesses or on Formal night. unfortunately, my DD6 did not wear the THREE costumes we packed her. she chosed another dress that she wore over and over again. oh well!

Our DD5 wore Tinkerbell for Tea with Wendy, Sleeping Beauty for formal night and Cinderella for character breakfast. Thought she was really something! It was worth sacrificing the luggage space just watching her "get ready". Very fun...take the dresses!

We will be bringning them. That was one of the first things dd asked about when we told her about the cruise, LOL. We'll also be bringing Peter Pan for ds. He wants Buzz and Captain Hook too, but I'm concerned those would be too hot.

::yes:: There will be plenty of opportunity for DD to wear her princess: dress.

This is our lil DGD at the 'Tea with Wendy' function we enjoyed.

My DD love to dress up at dinner. I vote to bring them. They will think its so much fun.

Our DD wore her blue Cinderella like dress for formal night, then again to have her picture taken with Cinderella another night. She didn't get to have her picture taken with Belle but did with Sleeping Beauty in that dress...along with several other characters that night. I put them in a small bag that I brought with us to dinner. After dinner I quickly changed her into the outfit for that princess & had pictures taken. It was so worth carting the bag around for the memories & her face when they gushed over her in her special outfits. Everyone stopped her to comment on her Cinderella dress. She felt so special. :)

Hi again!
:grouphug:
I recently saw a 12/05 Navigator and it said come dressed as a Pirate or Princess for a Party... so I thought I'd pass that along!

But when specifically do the kids dress up? At dinner, or breakfast, or just whenever!!!
My DD 7 loves dressing up, but is also shy, and would feel weird if no-one else was dressed!
I agree with the suggestions and am packing the dresses anyway, just dont know when to suggest her to wear it!

Another tip: they have great little crowns at Claires Accessories!

thanks

As the mother of 3 little princesses, let me tell you YES, bring the dresses. Mine dress up in WDW, loving all the attention. On the boat is the perfect time to dress them up. Mine dressed up as Minnie our first night in AP, wore princess dresses for both formal nights, the character breakfast, and sometimes just for fun. The pictures are great! My advice is to use a carpet bag and roll the dresses up. You can fit them much easier and the material basically shakes out, so wrinkles aren't a big problem.
(Pressing on the boat is very reasonable, in my honest opinion. I had a beautiful dress of my own, ball gown style, pressed wonderfully and for like 4 dollars, I think.)
I think I was able to fit 10 princess style dresses in one carpet bag and still had room for additional clothes. Bring them. You won't regret it! princess:

Dd will be 8 when we cruise. Will she be "too old"? Or do the bigger princesses wear their dresses also?

Same question here. DD will be 7 1/2 and likes to dress up in her dress, but worries about whether their will be other girls her age doing it. I said take it, wear it if you are comfortable. She'll probably end up making a friend who brought hers, so then there will be no regrets!

Great!!! My DD is 7 so I am going to take the advice and bring the dresses. I'm sure once the little ladies see others they will be fine dressing up on their own! Especially on Formal night, or Tritons or whenever!!!
princess:

thanks for all the advice. I had purchased the deluxe belle for dd for her bday celebration on the last night of the cruise. Than I went ahead and purchased the deluxe princess dress up trunk from disneydirect due to some of her other costumes being not so nice anymore. Im going to give them to her when we board. I cant wait to see her face. Im sure she will be in them the whole time we are there. :D

Your princess will have a magical time. I wish my dd was still that young! I am going to bring a dress for my dd too. Hopefully she will want to wear it! With three brothers though she'll probably want to wrestle captain Hook or something like that!

My DD 7 would rather dress like a pirate pirate: than a princess! princess:

So I am bringing both!!! LOL

You are going very soon! I'd love to hear which costume she chooses when you get back. Yesterday at the birthday party for my youngest ds my dd dressed in one of her brothers Power Ranger costumes and was chasing all her cousins (who happen to be only boys) throughout the house! I had never thought of bringing both. I guess I better do the same!

we are bringing a cindarella dress(03 halloween..JUST fits!! :earseek: glad i buy larger! ) and a jasmine outfit(04 halloween).

shows no interest in the pirate costumes.
