Do character breakfasts make DDP worth it?

I'd decided to pass on the DDP since I didn't think it would be worth it since we wouldn't be getting desserts or drinks with our lunches. However, I'm rethinking this now that we've decided to do 2 character breakfasts (we're doing CP and Tusker House for breakfast)

Do character breakfasts make the DDP worth it for most people?

TIA!

The character BREAKFAST actually make it more difficult to get your "money's" worth on the DDP. Your cost for the day is $51.50. Cost of a character breakfast is around $25, QS meal $15, and the most expensive snack $5. That's only $45, so you "lose" $6.50.

Of course, the above is for the adults in your party. When you add in children, you can come out ahead since the cost for their CB is pretty much the cost of the whole day on the DDP. That makes the kids' QS and snack "free" and can cover the money the adults lost.

Nice answer! I also like to add that Character Dining is great fun if you have kids. Else you can opt for other dining options that saves you more.

When we did the character breakfast in Nov, it was the Princess one in Epcot. It costs up OOP $130something for 2 adults and 2 kids. If you are going to do a lot of the character meals with kids, then yes, get the dining plan. If you are going with just adults, then save your money.

If you plan on eating all of your meals in the park, check out the prices on allears dot net to figure out your meal budget. They update frequently. Then you can really decide what will cost you more.

Our Norway princess breakfast was really expensive, too. It was over 300 for 3 adults and 3 kids. We had free dining, too, so even though we paid rack rate for the cabin, it cost almost much much as the hotel for the night. Crazy. I think that was our most expensive meal. And we still got a QS dinner and a snack.

Our last trip was our first time on the DDP, and I LOVED it.

Don't forget to factor in the tip for all the TS meals. Those can really add up!

We had "free" dining last October and did 4 character meals. Our 4 year old had a blast!

We are a family of foodies, and we treat each meal as part of the whole "experience", so, yes, the ddp is a necessity for us, as it makes character dining affordable. Character dining is a great way to meet the characters without having to wait outside , it is a great way as well to cool down and regroup before heading back to the parks. But my favorite about character breakfasts is that it allows you to get in the park early, so you get to enjoy smaller crowds and less heat for a bit.
