Do Cat 4 rooms open up 60 days out?

In general, are there a fair number of cancellations right at the 60 day mark when payment is due - opening up upgrade rooms for other booked passengers? I ask because there are 4 of us travelling on the 3/19/05 Eastern, but I had to book 2 cabins because no 4 person cabins were available. Ideally I'd like to consolidate into 1 cabin, preferrably a Cat 4 cabin.

I've been watching the 1/8/05 cruise for about a year now because I get an interline (airline employee) discount. At the 60 day mark, Nov. 8, rooms opened up in cat 12,10,8,5,and 4. So, keep watching. Also, I would begin watching around the 90 day mark now that they have changed the payment due date to 90 instead of 60.

Is this '90 day due date' for new reservations only?? Or existing reservations.... I haven't heard of this and I need to know for planning purposes!

The '90 day due date' is for reservations made after 9/08/04 I believe. But if you want to make your excursion reservations at 90 days out(which DCL is now doing) you have to pay in full. There have been some exceptions to this and if you are booked with a TA, DCL cannot change your due date. HTH

Hi there-Happy Friday.
We are booked on the 1/4/05 Magic. We were in a cat 5 before the 60 day mark when payment was due for us. At that point in time a lot of cabin's opened up. I changed mu cabin number. I was thinking about a cat. 4 as it was not much more $$$ and I wanted the little extra space as there are 4 of us. I ended up last week booking a cat 4 GTY. I just got my cabin number the other day. I would also suggest to start watching at the 90 day mark as some people booked after the new rule applied and some booked before the new rule applied. I am sure some cabin's will open up between the 90 and 60 day mark. Pixie dust and good wishes that you will get the cat 4. Gail

The current one or the one that the room was listed for when you made your original ressies?
