Do APs restrict room/DPdeals?

We are considering APs for the first time. We will only go 2x per year but I think it's worth it. Will holding an AP prevent me from getting a good package deal like fd or room discount?

AP holders get some pretty sweet room discounts. But you cannot get free dining AND an AP room discount. If you want free dining, you still have to purchase a package and that includes tickets for everyone. You can still be an AP holder and purchase that FD package. Just set the tickets aside for another time and continue to use your AP for the rest of the year.
