Do AP rates apply to every resort/room category?

I've booked a 2BR Villa at BCV Dec 10-18, at rack rate (!!!). When AP rates are released for Dec, assuming my dates are covered, is it a guarantee that I can just call and apply the AP discount to my current reservation? Are there ever certain resorts or room categories that don't offer the AP rate? Or are the number of rooms within a certain category limited for the AP discount? Do I need to basically call the very morning the rates are released to guarantee I get a discount?

I've never had an AP before so this is new to me. But I am also staying at the GF (honeymoon suite for 15 yr anniversary! ) this July, and if I can guarantee a discount for my Dec trip, am planning on buying an AP while at Disney this month.

It's never a guarantee that a discount will cover the room you want. The discounts have limited availability, and if Disney doesn't feel they need to discount those particular rooms (or if they've already sold out of the discount by the time you call) then you'll be out of luck. Best to have a back up resort plan when waiting for discounts.

That being said, I used the monster pin code for our September trip. We originally wanted to stay the first few nights at Pop and the rest of the time at the Beach Club... BC was sold out for those dates though, so we booked the BWI. A few weeks later, a standard room at the BC opened up so we switched! It doesn't hurt to keep trying!
