Do any of you own a Maclaren Quest Mod?

I've tried posting on the unofficial stroller thread but got no answer so I'll try here. I'm trying to choose between a Maclaren Volo or Maclaren Quest Mod for our upcoming trip. I've tried out the volo at Babies R Us and loved it. I love that it's lightweight, it rides really easily, the handles are a soft comfortable foam, it has the mesh seat in the back, and the sun visor can be pulled way down to cover your child from the sun.

I found a Maclaren Quest Mod on clearance on a stroller website and was wondering if it has all the above mentioned qualities, especially the sun shade that can be pulled way down over your child? It's a beautiful pink stroller and it's the same price as the 2008 Volo model but I haven't been able to test drive so I was hoping someone could help....thanks!

PS...I have also found a Maclaren Triumph on clearance as well...if anyone could answer the same questions for the Triumph, it would be much appreciated :) Thanks again!

My DD is also three...I loved the Volo at the store but then saw a picture today of a 2006 Quest that was pink and flowery (which DD loves) and I'm tempted to buy that instead but I haven't had a chance to test drive it which makes me nervous. I really like the sun canopy of the Volo and am hoping it goes down the same on teh Quest...I bought the Volo at Babies R US, but the only color they had was brown so it's sitting in the box until I can find a "prettier" replacement. My DD definitely enjoys girlie things and I figure if I can find something in the same price range, why not?

I love all the Maclarens. The Quest Mod has a few more options than the volo - the biggest that I can see is that it reclines (the Truimph does too). I would go for the girl color for the same money - I would do the same thing but I need to use it for my boy before my girl would get to use it! Can I ask what site you are looking at?

we have the 2007 powder pink volo! my 3yo princess: dd loves pink!! i think i order it from mothers to be i could be wrong!!

babydealz. I have looked at the pictures and the Quest doesn't seem to have the extra large sun canopy like the Volo has. I have decided to go with the Volo for that reason. I like that the other ones recline, but I think shielding DD from the sun will make her more comfortable...

I have decided on the Volo and I am now trying to decide between the powder pink model or the 2008 raspberry/black model. I really like the raspberry model but I'm wondering if the black shade would attract the sun and make it hotter inside the stroller? Does your DD stay cool in yours?

I have the Quest Mod from Albeebaby. I really like it because it has a window in the sunshade (so you can see all your little one's reactions) that is uv protected. That said, the shade is not as big as the volos, but I wanted to see my DD. Otherwise, love it. Great value and very cute. Folds easily and pushes very smoothly.

We have the Quest. I gotta say, the recline feature is much more important to me than the sunshade, plus the bit bigger sunshade on the Volo will not provide any more shade than the quest in strong sun. We use a kiddopotomus sunshade anyway, which is a must for any stroller in Florida and Colorado because of the strong rays.:sunny: I'd get the Quest, but go with what is important to you!

I have the Mac Triumph that I got from Albeebaby last fall, and I love it. I think it's pretty much the same as the Volo, just a few more features. Something to think about before you purchase though, is that you can get an sun shade extender to add to any of the Mac's, but you can't get anything that will make it recline. I like the Triumph because it has 4 different recline positions.

Hope this helps.

yes she does:thumbsup2 i also liked the rasberry/black,but living in texas the black would attract the sun. she loves her stroller and of course it's her fav. color PINK:)

what shade do you recommend, how much are they usually, and where is the best place to buy them?

Do the Quest and Triumph drive the same? When I pushed the Volo around it was so easy to maneuver and effortless to push. I loved the foam soft handles too...

Well, my 5 yr old will sit in the stroller and her 18 mos old sister will push her around without much of a problem. I think with the Mac's the basics are all pretty much the same, the triumph has the foam handles also. Really the only difference that I've noticed is some of the extra features like the recline. The one thing the Triump doesn't have is a carry strap, the model I have just has a handle. That's been fine for me so far, but I haven't used it at WDW so I don't know if it will be an issue.

I just priced/tried out macs at babies r us since my mac was getting kind of beat up and I needed a second stroller for my older two to share in disney.
Keep in mind that these were all 2008 models, so older models may differ slightly. The differences I noticed were:

The Volo had the mesh seat where the triumph and quest had a padded seat.

The Volo doesn't recline at all. The triumph has a strap behind the seat that you can loosen or tighten to recline. The Quest has 3 or 4 actual recline positions.

The Quest has a pocket on the back of the sunshade, I don't think the volo or triumph did (but I could be wrong about this).

The Quest has a viewing window on the hood so you can see your child. The volo and triumph did not.

The biggest difference for me was that the Quest was roomier and my older kids sat deeper in the seat. They were really squished in the volo and triumph but were fairly comfortable in the quest (and these are a TALL 6 and 8 yr old).

I didn't notice a difference on the sunshades, but there could be. I really was more concerned with the deeper seat.

The weight of the stroller itself did increase from the volo, to the triumph, to the quest.

I believe all of the 2008 models come with a carry strap, cut double check on that if it is important to you. The 2007 Quest that I got only has a carry handle on the side.

They all pushed good, but I thought the Quest pushed a little easier with my older kids in it.

They all had the same padded handles.

My model (2007 Quest) does not allow the hood to be pulled down over the child. I thought I read somewhere that it does, but I can't make it do that. Maybe the 2008 does? Mine seems to just be the normal rounded hood.

I ended up getting a 2007 Mac Quest New in the box on ebay for $120 shipped. It is bright coral pink which is ok since my 3 yr old is a girl. Normally I would go for a more neutral color, but this was the cheapest. So she gets the new one and my older two can share my older one if they need to.

I just checked and there are still some available for $120 shipped in the coral pink if you are interested.

Haven't taken the Volo or Truimph on a test drive, but the Quest is one handed driving. ;) You can easily turn the stroller only using one hand, it maneuvers VERY easily and has the padded handles, too. Love it. We had zero issues with it in December when DS was six months on his first trip.

It is also very easy to break down one handed through airport security, and fits nicely in those red "gate check" bags to protect it from the greasy grime of the underbelly of an airplane.

what shade do you recommend, how much are they usually, and where is the best place to buy them?

We bought a Rayshade when we bought a Mac Quest a few years ago. We never did use the Rayshade on the Quest (actually never used teh Quest much either LOL) but we did use the Rayshade on our Peg P3 as well as the I'Coo Infinity.

It is very lightweight and folds small and offers a large amount of sun protection! They are usually priced at about $16 or less and can be found online (stores, Ebay, etc.) or even places like Babies R Us or any Baby Stores in your area. They come in Black, Navy Blue, or Gray. HTH

I have the quest. I bought it especially for disney and i LOVE IT!!! The reclining seat and the movable shade are BIG bonuses!! All three of my kids fit in it, and its sooo easy to move them around in. Really lightweight. My kids are 18mo, 5 and 7. We also bought a volo for the same trip because it was on clearance at Target. I prefered the quest over it by far. Yes, it did have a shoulder carrying strap, but I found that when I used it, it just bumped into my backside all the time.
