Do any adults get character autographs?

I don't feel there is any issue with adults getting autographs or pics w/ the characters. Anyone that says that the characters are only for kids needs to take a dose of Disney magic. The characters are for everyone. I'm sure if you asked the characters they would tell you the same thing.

I don't get the autograph thing either. I think it only all started when Disney realized that they could make $$$ off of selling the books.

We just got back from WDW yesterday, and saw tons of adults in line for autographs and pictures. No one thought a thing of it! Honestly, I think so many people are busy doing their own thing that they don't even notice/care who's in line for characters.
One of my favorite character interactions I saw was actually an older couple (I'm guessing in their 60s??) with Mickey Mouse. They were getting autographs/pictures with him, and he really hammed it up for them. It was neat!

On our Disneymoon we resolved NOT to get caught up in character-chasing, and ended up getting autographs and photos with loads!

I still get autographs and photos too. My autograph books are some of my favorite Disney souvenirs. In recent years, I've started making a character scrapbook and the autographs look great with the photos. I think as long as you are being considerate of the people behind you in line and the characters, autograph collecting is a fine activity for adults.

My best friend and I go to WDW each year at the beginning of December to celebrate her birthday and another year of survivorship (she has breast cancer). If you told her she couldn't get autographs and pictures with the characters she'd cry--it's her favorite part of WDW.

We are also making a character scrapbook. It keeps the Disney spirit going all year round.

I'm 51 and I don't do autographs, but I do get my pic taken with all the characters I can find and I do drag my DH to character meals!!!

I'm not an autograph person, but if someone wants to get an autograph, who is someone on this board to tell you or anyone else that you "shouldn't be getting one." That's complete crap.

I've also been told that adults should give up their parade spots to other people's kids, etc. I say when that person is paying for your vacation, they can tell you what to do. Until then, tell them to stuff it and only worry about what they're doing. Not what everyone else is doing.

We aren't autograph people, but we love to get pictures with the characters. Actually, when we were in Disney this past February, I was in line waiting to get a picture with Sleeping Beauty. A woman behind me (who was in line with her daughter) asked me if I was saving the spot for my child. I guess she thought my "husband" was with my child and they were planning on getting in line with me when they returned. I said to her nicely "no, I don't have any kids, its just me getting my picture with Aurora." Well if looks could kill.... Boy did she give me a nasty look and she said under her breath "oh well thats interesting" and muttered something about all the kids waiting in line behind me. I just turned around and minded my business.

Well, when I got to the front of the line and my boyfriend got ready to take my picture, the family who was standing behind the nasty lady must have heard her comments to me and they offered to take a couple of pictures of both my bf and myself with Aurora. The rude lady was practically having a hissy fit stomping her feet and getting all worked up because they took more than 1 picture for us. We just laughed it off and thanked the other family for their kind gesture.

Its amazing how rude people can be in DISNEY, of all places!! What a great example the woman was setting for her children too.

I say, forget the people who tell you adults shouldn't get autographs or should give up their parade spots. I don't think so!!

When we went in May we didn't think about autographs until later (so we missed a bunch) but dh thought it would be cool to have the characters sign his hat and they were very accommodating. They actually thought it was a cool idea.

We definitely don't think that autographs are for kids only! It's Disney - we're all kids!!!

DH and I started a autograph book when we were on our honeymoon the first two signatures are mine with my new name and his. We totally try to get as many as we can every trip. Have we had static from parents in line, yup.. Do we let it bother us, nope.
We will start a new book for DS when we go in Feb. oh and bring ours too..

you were a kid before you became an adult. DW and i get as many photos and autographs as we can. kids or no kids. heck i even have a photo of me and goofy both in tuxes. so if you want autographs get in line too. the charactors seem to love it too.

I get some autographs to use for scrapbooking unless there is a line and it keeps some kids from seeing the character and getting autographs. I don't think there is anything wrong with it.

It will be my first time ever to WDW next year, as we could never really afford to go when I was a kid, and this will be me fulfilling the trip of a lifetime... I'll be 21 and I'll be doing all the kiddie things!! Getting autographs, going to meals, getting pictures with them all - and dare any kiddie get between me and eeyore

For years my DH and I were some of the only childless people at a character meal or some of the only adults standing in line.

The characters don't judge so why should we?

My kids each had their own autograph book and I had one as well. I wanted to be able to put the autograph into my scrapbook next to the picture of the kids with the character. I knew the kids would never agree to me tearing up their autograph books. The characters were fine with that and I never had a problem getting a signiture. Aren't we all kids at Disney

That is SO funny that you mention the rudeness of people in Disney. My mother and I were just commenting on that fact. During our last trip a little over a week ago, we encountered an amazing amount of rude guests. They were rude to fellow guests, rude to fellow cast members, rude to resident ducks. You name it.

Of course, the reason this was brought up was the amazing number of people we ran into during the day that were so rude it was criminal. Rudeness on the road, while shopping, etc. I think it all boils down to a deteroration of common courtesy among people when it comes to their fellow man. It's sickening. I go out of my way to say hello to people who look me in the eye. I tip WELL. I allow people to go in front of me and say excuse me if I accidentally bump into someone. So, when I see people who can't extend the same courtesy, it really angers me.

Walt Disney has been quoted as saying that if you go out of your way to not disappoint those around you, you're less likely to be disappointed in them. I think that's a rule that everyone needs to live by.

And as for that woman that was so nasty to you, I believe in karma. Seen it too many times not to. I'm sure she found a nice dose of it later. Heck - sounds like the guests behind her delivered it to her themselves (and I applaud those people!).
