I just read a thread where someone said that only children should get autographs. Should only children get autographs?

Is it weird for adults to go to character meals or get autographs?

Do any adults here get autographs?

I think everyone is a kid at Disney World.

We don't usually get autographs just because we wouldn't know what to do with them but we usually do at least 1 character meal, stand in line for characters we love, and take lots of pics with them. I see LOTS of adults doing the same thing and have never felt odd!

I don't think I would go for an autograph, but I'm definately thinking about making ADR's for some sort of character meal next year while I'm on my Disneymoon.

My DH searched our whole trip for Cinderella, and was not totally happy until he got her to sign his hat!

I get autographs. I'm 42 years young. I put a date on the autograph page so that I can remember that particular trip and place where I got the autograph. I do it more as a way to remember that magical encounter with the character. I take lots of photos, too.

Phooey on the folks who say kids only for autographs! Spoken like folks who have had to wait in line with their kids while my kids and I visit with the characters.

By the way, look for the Fairy Godmother. She is totally awesome!

I am 21 almost 22 and have had an autograph book since I was 9. I still try to get autographs of the characters that I don't have. It's fun. My family and I also go to character dinning all the time. Chef Mickey's is one of our favorite restaraunts. The last time my fiancee and I were in Disney World we ate at Garden Grill just the two of us.
The only time I felt a little awkward was at Akershus. This was right after it became the princess dinner. We went for the food and are not very big princess fans. Of course we ended up making friends with the waiter when we told him we were there for only the food. I don't think we will be going back there though. Too much has changed, which is sad. It was a really nice place. :sad1:

This adult will be getting autographs......I stand in line for pictures with the characters and we are doing the character breakfast at Cape May and the character dinner at Garden Grill.....I feel the adults have just as much right to interact with the characters as the kids do.....you're only as old as you feel, right!!!!

I love getting autographs and pictures with the characters! It is one of my favorite things to do.

It's amazing what other adults will judge others for. It's insane.

I'm not an autograph person, but if someone wants to get an autograph, who is someone on this board to tell you or anyone else that you "shouldn't be getting one." That's complete crap.

I've also been told that adults should give up their parade spots to other people's kids, etc. etc. I say when that person is paying for your vacation, they can tell you what to do. Until then, tell them to stuff it and only worry about what they're doing. Not what everyone else is doing.

I do go for the character meals. And everytime I'm there, I always see parties of adults only and couples. AND I always let Mickey take his photo with me. :p

OH and if Captain Jack Sparrow starts doing photo sessions - you better believe I will be there with bells on. Or Aztec Gold. As it were. :teeth:

I am 35 and am planning on getting them. I made my own books so that I can use the pages in my scrapbook. We are also doing two character meals and it is jus me and DH no kids!!

I am leaving tomorrow and I have my autograph book and sharpies ready to go. And I am 28 years old! The way I see it is I paid to be there and I wouldn't be there if I didn't love the characters and the :wizard: So I am just as entitled to an autograph as anyone else. How do you put an age limit on autographs and character meals????? :confused3 You don't they are for anyone who wants to enjoy them . :thumbsup2

Well, I am the biggest offender here! I have seven autograph books almost filled, and many of those autographs I got by my adult self, without my nieces or nephew. :teeth: I love getting autographs so much that I wrote a 160 page website dedicated just to them!! If I see a new character and I want their autograph, the thought that "it's only for children" never crosses my mind. I never had a character or a CM attendant treat me weird because I am a "grown up", actually they seem very used to it! :)

I'm 23 and I get a new autograph book every time I visit Disney. To me, it's part of the fun, and my trip is not complete until I see Mickey, take a picture with him and give him at least one kiss. We are all kids at heart.

Sorry, I just don't get the whole autograph thing. :confused3 Truthfully, I think its dumb! I do it with my kids because they like to have them, but me personally, I would never stand in line to get any characters autograph.

Well, unless Jack Sparrow started signing them.....but thats a whole other story. :teeth:

I have seen your website; it actually made me want to get character autographs.

I'm glad there are other adults out there that get autographs (I plan on doing it for the first time next trip).

I probably won't do autographs, but I WANT PICS!!! And I'm almost 50!

Personally, I don't get autographs but PHOTOS! That's another story. You can guarantee I will be getting photos with all the characters I can find. :thumbsup2

Adults have just as much right as anyone else to get autographs (and photos!) it is special for anyone at any age. That's what Disney magic is all about. :wizard:

ADD me to the AFA Club (Adults for Autographs) - I do have my DD9 with me most of the time, but there are times when she does not want to be bothered - she wants to be riding a ride. It's not just the autograph its the combination of the autograph/picture. DD will say - BUT we already have that character - and my response is - yeah 1 year ago, 2 years ago, etc. I think she will really appreciate it when she is older and we have so many memories from the years she "grew up" at Disney!
