Forgive me for my "brain cramp", but I can't remember if AP holders get to take advantage of EMH, or if you have to stay onsite for this. Help!

EMH is for on site which is why I usually have to show my hotel key even with an annual pass. If it is close to opening up for regular guests (like 15 minutes or closer) ,off season I have seen them let you in but it is rare and depends on the CM.

Nope, AP holders do not get this.

We are ap holders and still have to show room key, we do stay onsite a lot, so it is never a problem...we always have a valid room key.

I understand the confusion. When we first bought our APs we were told they were good for EHs, but I think that has now changed, I don't recall seeing it on my list of benefits.

We have had PAPs for about 7 years now. We have only be eligible for EMH, Surprise Morning, E-Ticket nights, etc if we were staying at WDW resort. There were a few exceptions to those rules, but it didn't apply to AP or PAP holders unless they were staying in a Disney-eligible resort.
