Do All These "Codes" Mean No Free Dining This Fall???

Hi Guys~
Please tell me this isn't the case!! We're staying at a value resort during value season so the 40% off isn't nearly good as the free dining for us. I have two teenage boys so free dining for us would definitely be better than the $150 we saved with the codes.

Your guess is as good as the next person. None of us have crystal balls. :)

well......

free dining was originally designed to fill the rooms during hurricane season (during the time frame in '05 that Orlando got slammed).

if the rooms are booked @ whatever % is the magic number, they'd be foolish to offer it IMO.

as in the same reason they've stopped offering public codes/discounts for middle of June past the 4th of July....

they don't need to:sad2:

Nobody knows...but I spoke to 3 different CM's at CRO this past week and each one said they thought it was liklely but couldnt promise it. One even told me they didnt get as many people to book the bounce back promotion as they anticipated, so he thought they would most likely offer free dining to the general public. Who knows.

I think it depends on how many people book with the current pin code that is out. Since it's for a large time frame, if this does well then they really wouldn't have to.

I have been thinking about that also, I think they are tring not to do free dining this year disney does not do the same thing three years in a row most time. I but they will if this doen't draw people in with the codes. I hope they do it is a great program. I hope everyone has a chance to enjoy it. goodluck if it is what your waiting on.;)

We just booked our Sept trip this weekend. We paid rack rates with the hope that free dining is offered, and we can apply the offer when the promotion comes out. (we weren't one of the few chosen ones to get the 40% off deal). The CM I dealt with said it was very likely, but obviously couldn't promise anything. If it doesn't come out, we'll probably cancel, and go later in the fall when it's cooler and less chance of a hurricaine. Free dining makes it worthwhile to go in Sept.

It's probably not a good idea to book a room during the typical free-dining season if you won't keep the ressie unless they offer free dining. The more rooms that they have booked at rack rate, the less likely that they will offer free dining. Current ressies will only be converted to a free dining package if there are rooms allotted to that resort and you call back to convert your ressie, current ressies will not automatically be converted.

I agree, unless you are planning to go whether the discount is offered or not.

Disney sent me a survey last year after our trip with free dining. They had a lot of questions about what type of discounts I have gotten in the past and how they compared to free dining. I told them that I love the free dining, but stay at a value or moderate when it's offered. With room discounts, we usually choose a deluxe. I booked the Poly (40% discount) for 5 nights, 2 adults, with the DP and still saved $200 more than we would with free dining. If they offered free dining, we would probably stay at a value. By offering the resort discount, Disney got a lot more of our money.

After all the problems getting all the people with free dining fed last fall, I think Disney may be trying to come up with another way to fill their rooms during the off times. Last fall, the values were filled with many families who paid less per night for their room than they would for the DP. I wonder how the deluxe resorts filled up? I also wonder if they offered the bounce back promotion to get an idea of what tye of rooms people would book if free dining were offered again??

I doubt any of the CMs who answer the phones really have any idea whether the free dining will be offered or not.

Filled rooms = no free dining.

I'm hoping for the free dining, so have not called and tried to book a discounted package or room.
