I got ds20 and ds21 the same sleep pants. So they matched.

It was not that I "wanted" them to match. I just knew they both liked the same cartoon character design that was on them. Its from a show they both like and watch alot.

Well they complained and said it was terrible etc. (Probably reminded them of their childhood when I had all the 3 ds match alot)

Then ds21 went on facebook and a friend of theirs posted a picture that he and his brother also got matching sleep pants. He said they looked like christmas light bulbs.

Then ds21 asked me...so do all moms think alike? Hmm... but I was glad this mom had the same idea as me.

My kids never matched because they were 7 years apart and a boy and girl so there weren't many opportunities. I will tell you, that I loved the family pyjamas from the Disney Store and I wanted to get them for everybody for Christmas. They all said NO. Sure it's nerdy. That's the point:rotfl2: It's not like I"m asking them to go to school in them:rotfl2:

So .. no dice on the matching pyjamas here either. But I understand the strange motherly compulsion to at least try:rotfl:

No. Not all moms think alike. There is no way in the world that I would have ever considered buying my adult sons the same pj pants. Especially character pj pants. I would have either bought a different pattern for one son, or else neither of them would have gotten their favorite character memorialize in flannel. Matching pajamas for Christmas ended when the kids were around 5.

My sister and I are older and we had matching pajama pants that we wore yesterday. They're jingle jammies from Old Navy and have reindeer, though they're different colors. I think matching pajamas is one thing....but character pajamas when you're older than 10- not so much. I watch Wizards of Waverly Place even when my daughter isn't around, but I don't want to wear anything with Alex Russo on it.

My 19yr old son sleeps in Family Guy sleep pants at times (pajama bottoms). My husband would love a pair to lounge around the house in.

I think it depends on the character. My son(s) would balk at Super Mario, Mickey Mouse or Bugs Bunny, Family Guy not so much. If they were matching, they couldn't care less. No one sees them in them. If it was something that was worn outside of the house, they would want something different, maximize the possibility of sharing.

we do Christmas pj's for the kids. But they are little kids. And they don't match. They normally go together since I grab them at Gymboree and the lines just work like that. But that's not the grand plan.

ODD (teenager) wouldn't go for matching pjs at all. Or character pjs.

I'd have no issues with getting two adults the same thing if it's something they liked. It's not like they have to wear them the same day (or in this case, like many people would even see them wearing them.) My mom has gotten adults in our family the "same" Red Sox shirt before- there are only so many options with lisenced things some times.

If you go them head to toe matching outfits and said "you'll look so cute together when we go to Grandma's for Christmas dinner", that would be different!

My kids are a boy and a girl, they don't match.

We were actually laughing about this on Christmas Eve....I was looking at Christmas cards from friends of my parents were everyone was dressed nicely and matching. I turned to my mother and said "I know why I don't send out Christmas cards, I can't do a photo where everyone matches." My mother said "I can't either."

My daughter is twelve and I buy her and I matching jammies because she gets a kick out of matching me.

I usually don't do matching things for my kids but that is mainly b/c they are a boy and a girl. However this year I got them both penguin pjs by accident. lol

My dd loves penguins so i bought her a pair i saw one day in her fave store. Then later I saw a pair of pjs that had pockets and knew my son would LOVE the pockets so I grabbed a pair and then realized later they were both penguins. lol But different colors and stuff.

They thought they were great! :santa:

I will admit that I did buy Ninja Turtle sleep pants for all three of my sons. Not on purpose though, I bought them at different times and forgot that I had gotten them for one of the others. They laughed, and it doesn't matter because only my youngest son lives at home now, so none of them will be seen wearing them at the same time.

I see nothing wrong with getting adults matching stuff. Even IF they lived in the same house they probably wouldn't put them on at the same time. If they live in different places, why the heck does it matter?

I don't get my kids things that match, but they're 11 & 8 and it's hard enough to figure out who's clothes are whose when laundry is put away. I don't need matching things to deal with.

I'd have no problem with it! But, then again, we don't wear our PJ's out of the house!

That's what I thought....who's going to see them? AND if they do wear them out of the house they look "nerdy" regardless of the pattern!

I used to buy matching jammies every year, until it started costing $50 a pair! This year, dd8 and dd10 matched, ds8 and ds13 matched (got ds13 an xxl kids - he's 5'6"). Dd15 didn't match anyone, and go figure, she was a bit miffed, even though she's eye rolled the matching for the past couple of years. It's just a tradition to open up matching jammies on Christmas Eve., and put them on (DH and I did it once, too).

My girls are 10 and 12 and the boys are 13, 16 and 17. I got the girls the same PJs in different colors and all the boys +DH the same PJ bottoms. It's not really that I'm trying to make them match its just me trying to be fair and spend the same on each of them and not wanting to run to 5 different stores for PJs

I think your sons are a bit old for you to be buying them matching pajamas. I don't do that for my kids anymore and the oldest is 11.

I don't see a problem with buying matching items. IF you made them wear them at the same time, that's a bit different.

I don't see anything wrong with it and for them to make such a big deal and make their mom feel badly about a GIFT is absolutely rude!!!

I would totally do it if they both liked them. The only thing that would stop me might be that I wouldn't want to have to figure out which ones belonged to who when doing the laundry. But if they don't care about possibly swapping back and forth I would buy the matching pairs.
