Do ALL DVC members get Discounts on Annual Pass

We are scheduled to close on a DVC resale on February 20th. (We passed Disney on January 30th, I am hoping for an earlier closing but who knows.)

We are going to Disney on March 7th under the free dining promo. My question is can we use our 6-day park tickets towards and Annual Pass with our DVC membership discount? I am hoping we will have our membership cards by then? Can we do this and where? I am hoping this can be done since we planning on using our DVC membership for stay January 2013.

My only concern with this scenario is that you may not have your member card by the time you leave for your vacation. If you do not you may want to stop by the DVC preview area in the Saratoga Springs resort and see if they might be able to expedite you membership cards for you and provide you a set while you are there onsite. If they can then take your membership card and your park tickets to the Guest services window at any theme park entrance or Downtown Disney and they can apply the gate value of the 6 day pass toward the upgrade to the DVC AP. You must do this within 14 days of first use and must still have at least one unused day on the ticket to perform the upgrade.

Your concern about not having our membership card is also my concern. But if member services at Saratoga springs can help, can the take our six day base ticket off our kttw card or do I need those tickets off separately from our kttw card?

For convenience I would just leave your ticket on the KTTW card. If you are able to receive your DVC membership cards or if the cast members are able to provide some other means of verifying your membership then the guest services area at Downtown Disney is just a short drive away. They would be able to scan your room key to determine what type and value of your park admission and apply that to the AP purchase.

Another possibility, and it's a ling shot. Even if they cannot provide your membership card while you are there maybe they could "vouch" for you at the guest services window ? Something like " This is the XYZ family. They are new members who have not received their cards yet. Their member id is XXXXX. They are entitled to the DVC AP discount. Can you help them? " Worth a try.

Thank for helping me think this out. I just hope they can possibly move up my closing date and quickly record the deed and get out my membership cards. I wonder if I can pick up my membership cards somewhere while I am at WDW in March?

Yes you should have no problem getting the discount if you are a DVC member.

I am worried I will have my membership number but not my cards in hand by the time arrival on March 7, 2012. The title company should have our contracts and final payment in hadn by noon tomorrow. Keeping my fingers crossed that the seller sends their paperwork back quickly to move up the clock for us.

I seem to recall having gotten temporary cards until our actual ones came to us to use. That was just over 2 years ago. Would they not be good as well? I would think they should be.

I'm fuzzy at the moment but I do think we got them at the signing of our contract. After we signed all the papers, the guide handed them to us and said permanent cards would arrive a few weeks alter but to use them for now. Oh yes the memory is coming back now. I believe that was it.

We bought resale, so I wonder if the dvc membership office can do temporary cards for us while we are at Disney if we have our dvc membership number by then!
