Do all 1 bedrooms at BWV face the boardwalk?

I've only stayed in a studio at BWV. This August will be my first time in a 1 bedroom. I know the studios have preferred or standard views but what about the 1 and 2 bedrooms? :)

All the room sizes are scattered around the resort. The only one with all Boardwalk view are grand villas. Preferred view studios, 1 bedrooms, 2 bedrooms can have views of the boardwalk, swan/dolphin, main pool, quiet pool. Standard views face the front driveway and tennis courts. Only about 20% are boardwalk view and about 20% are standard view, leaving the rest of the pools or swan/dolphin.

Only the GV's have guaranteed BW view. Is your 1 bdrm preferred? If so, then you could possibly get a BW view. Time reservation was made, check in day and requests made will probably play a big part. We got a studio with a BW view a couple of weeks ago without asking, but it was also on a Friday night.

Here is a link with some room reports and it will give you some view comments. http://members.aol.com/InstImpres/boardwalk As others have said, asking for a specific room and getting it is slim. This will give you an idea of “sectional views”.

(You may also want to check it at again over the weekend. I just returned and have a lot of reports that were sent to me to update)

Here is also a breakdown on the rooms
BWV
97 Dedicated Studios
130 Dedicated 1Bdrm
0 Dedicated 2Bdrm - 149 Lockoffs
7 Grand Villas = 383 Units / 532 Max. Available Rooms

Standard View
Studios 22% of total 241 studios
One Bedrooms 23% of 272 total one bedrooms
Two Bedrooms 25% of 145 two bedrooms

Good luck

This means there are a total of 246 studios - 97 dedicated and 149 lockoff. I don't think there is a big enough difference to stress over it or make it a request.

The dedicated studios have a small daybed, making it "legal" for 5.

But they will not guarentee a dedicated studio. You can request one, but you may end up with a lock off - which if one were concerned about the "legalities" would make it quite awkward if you showed up with five.

(hope this is not stepping over the line into an occupancy hijack).

If/When we stay in a studio or a one bedroom unit at BWV, we always request a dedicated unit. These units are quieter than the lock off units (no "inside-the-unit" connecting door to another unit).

Some of the dedicated 1 bedroom units are a little larger than the lock off units. They tend to be "corner" rooms and also have an extra window or two.

The daybed in the dedicated studios (this room type is sometimes called "studio plus") is actually quite small - about 4 feet long. It only works as a bed for a small child. These daybeds are absolutely NOT the same as the "twin size" daybeds found in some of the other deluxe hotels that sleep 5 (such as the CR or the Poly).

As others have mentioned, dedicated is just a request and you may not get it. I ask anyway and am happy when it works.

Enjoy your stay!

Great idea!! I never thought of doing this.......duh!!!!! LoL! How often are you successful in getting the dedicated rooms?

I was told when making a BWV reservation that dedicated or lockoff is not a request, it's actually assigned when you reserve. I've always booked at 11 months and always got a dedicated, none of which were corner rooms (3 stays).

So far, we've stayed in a studio once and a one bedroom once. (All the other times, we've been in two bedroom units). Got our dedicated requests both times. Didn't get a corner room, but we have always stayed in standard views and I'm not sure how many (if any) corner rooms there are in the standard category. We also book at 11 months, so maybe that is why we have been so lucky.

I believe that since all the 2 bedrooms at BWV are lockoffs that they assign the dedicated studios & 1 bedrooms first, leaving the lockoffs to be booked as 2 bedrooms. Then when the dedicated studios & 1 bedrooms are booked, they start separating the lockoffs. So making your reservation early is the best chance of getting a dedicated.
