We booked our disney trip last minute.. literally booked tuesday, leaving on sunday lol. so we don't have time for disney to send luggage tags for magical express. I was given two different answers by cast members (are they still called that over the phone? lol)

1. you must get your luggage from baggage claim and bring it to the bus.

2. you can give them your luggage claim tickets from the airlines with a desciption of your bags and they can still "magical express" them.

we're traveling with 2 adults and 4 kids under 12. so ideally we don't want to be lugging things around if we don't have to. but I'm VERY nervous about the luggage being lost.. has anyone ever done this?

thanks so much :)

#2 is correct. #1 is an option, but not required. Have fun!

ETA: if your flight lands at 10pm or later, then the correct answer is #1

If you can, go out and buy some very bright ribbon and tie it on each bag..be sure there are not dragging ends that can get caught up in conveyor belts and such. Then, take a photo of the bag.
When you get to the DME counter, they will ask how many bags you had, ask to copy the claim receipts, and ask for a description of the bags. Then they will send someone to get the bags for you.
The only thing that would make me nervous is that your bags will go out to the public baggage claim carousel...and if the DME workers are slow to get there, the bags are sort of unattended for a bit, and then are taken to the unclaimed baggage area. I haven't heard of anyone having an issue though.

How old are the kids?? My dd has been responsible for her own bag since she was 5!!

my sisters kids are 4, 6, 8 and 12 but being that theres only 2 of us and 4 of them, we like to make it as easy as possible. thanks for the ribbon idea, i didn't think of that!

We have done it. Booked on a Sunday, left on a Thursday. I was terrified our bags would be lost but DH said no way we are lugging the suitcases with us. Everything was fine but I was definitely nervous.
