DME with babies?

We will have a 4 year old DD and a 14 month old DS on our next trip.

As I understand it there are no car seats provided on the bus but we will have one that DS will use on the plane. Is there a way to strap the carseat into the bus seat? Or would he just sit in a lap on the bus? (That kinda scares me! lol!)
If we can't use the seat on the bus will they put it in with the luggage for us? Is there a charge to do that?

We have never used DME before but are considering it and I would love to hear your experiences using it with a baby.

Thanks!

I might be wrong, but I am pretty sure that carseats are not allowed on the bus; you'd have to put it below. There should not be a charge for that. The seats on the buses are pretty narrow and have armrests, and no seat belts to strap a carseat in, so carseats would not work.

The Disney buses don't have any seatbealts, either, so get used to hanging on to that little one. And don't be afraid to ask for a seat if no one offers one to you on a crowded bus so you can be as safe as possible!

Have a great time!!

From the DME website:
"Are car seats and pets permitted on the Disney Magical Express motor coaches?

No. Car seats must be stowed underneath the motor coach. (Children can sit on an adult's lap or occupy their own seat.)

And while service animals may travel on the motor coach with their owners, no other pets are permitted."

You do know the buses/monorail and boats to the park don't have seatbelts right? You and your child/ren may not even have a seat.

There aren't seatbelts to buckle the carseat. Wrangling our 20 mth old on the ride to the resort wasn't a walk in the park, but that's because she was REALLLLY tired and cranky. My DH held her down pretty well with no incident.

I have never done a lap baby on the plane, but what a great way to save a fare! I can't believe that you are buying him/her a seat for the carseat. I don't think I could ever justify it. lol.

But yeah, just hold your baby. The motorcoaches are huge, & heavy. If something crazy would happen, like a car running into it, chances are you'd probably not even notice. Youv'e got physics on your side.

I went with my DH and our 3 kids who were 8, 2, and 10 mos. My DH and I couldn't get seats together and somehow I ended up with myself in one seat holding the baby with my 2 y/o in the other seat. My DH was a few rows behind me with our 8 y/o. The 2 y/o was a little squirmy but we made it. Try to get the kids to watch the video and bring a book or something to distract them. It's only 20 minutes and it's well worth the slight aggravation you may encounter.

As I'm writing this I'm wondering why I got stuck with the two little guys while my DH got to kick back and relax...lol.

Of course you buy the baby a seat for the carseat on the plane. In turbulence, lap held babies become projectiles!

On the bus? Well, physics is on your side. I'm a little less picky about that. If it really bothers you, hire a towncar service.
