I can't decide which to do...a car service w/grocery stop (rt for $100 plus tip) or DME with groceries delivered ($12 fee plus min $40 in groceries plus 2hr time window waiting). How much time will we save, if any, using a service? We land 10:35AM at MCO and are staying at WL. Have never done DME so don't know how long it could take, but the Disney rep said up to 2-2 1/2 hrs. I can't imagine a service w/stop could take so long...any info out there? TIA

We've done both. If it wasn't for the cost, I'd pick a town car every time. DME is fine. I just prefer the personal service & less waiting.

Best case scenario, you're at WL by noon. If DME is busy on your day, or if WL is not the first stop, maybe 12:30.

Keep in mind that if you take DME back to MCO, you will have to depart a minimum of three hours before your flight. A towncar might reduce that to 2-2 1/2 hours.

We usually arrive around 10-10:30 am and we have always been to our resort by noon and to the parks by 1 (three times). We have done the grocery delivery twice and neither time did we wait around for them to deliver, they dropped our groceries off with bell services (who refridgerated our milk). When we got back to our room, we called down and they brought up our groceries and the other bags we had left with them.

If you want to save $$$ by using DME, AND get groceries for your room, try one of the grocery delivery sevices such as www.gardengrocer.com.

Very interesting Emily, thanks! I didn't know you could do that with the grocery delivery.

DME generally takes abot 70 minutes from the time you get off the plane until you walk in your resort. A town car with a grocery stop will take longer than that.

We do towncar because we hate the bus but I don't think the towncar is any faster.

Also, I don't know how many groceries you plan to buy, but a 30 minute stop is pretty frantic if you have a very long list. We still take the towncar but we also do the grocery delivery to avoid that 30 minute dash through the store, hoping to get everything on the list.

We did this too. We had towncar service and had garden grocer deliver. It was our first trip anywhere and it was so nice to have someone meet us there and help with the bags. He pointed out sites on the drive to the resort. It was a great way to start a vacation. We had garden grocer deliver because I wanted to be able to take my time creating the list of items we wanted, and I also didn't want us starting our trip off by going to the grocery store (especially one we had never been to before). I would definitely do it the same way again if we go again.

Hmmm, an option I hadn't considered.....think we'll go for that! All the resorts will store your refridgerated items with no problem? I should just have a milk, cream cheese and a couple of yogurts.... would you recommend the delivery closer to the time we think we'll be back from the park (ie after dinner) or does it really not matter?
