DME transportation options

I see they have sedan, SUV options on DME as well as the usual bus. Is the price they quote for both ways? Or just one way to the resort when you arrive and you take the bus to the airport on departure day?

Also since its less stops taking a private car, is departure time more flexible?

DME is buses only. Are you looking at a Town Car service?
You will get lots of advice if you post on the Transportation Forum, rather than the Resort Forum

When I was pricing out Disney vacation, it came up with SUV/Sedan/Limo services other than DME? I thought it was all through DME just a different vehicle. I 'll check transportation, thanks!

If you were looking at MEARS Transportation? MEARS runs DME.... but MEARS also has OTHER options. Now, those are NOT DME options - you'll PAY for them. We used to, before DME existed....

Now - if staying on Site, and traveling INTO/OUT OF MCO? DME (free) is a really GREAT way to go.

Yes I know it's more $$ just looking for possible other options to get to/from resort/airport without the bus wait and numerous bus stops

We go with other options at times. I'll let you know that cost wise, they are all within about $5 of each other. Unless you need a large vehicle or limo.
But Town Car, UberBlack, Taxi, will all run you about $75, with tip. Give or take $5

Since they are a car you hire for your use alone they are 100% on your schedule.

Interesting. Wonder when they added that option? It's been a long time since I priced a package but pretty sure the option for other transportation methods have not always been there.

As PP pointed out, the transportation board will have a lot of advice for you on taking private transport over the DME buses. We personally use Park Ave. Limo and, yes, it gives us more flexibility. Private car companies will typically meet you in baggage claim, escort you to the private car and drive you directly to your resort. It cuts down a great deal on DME travel time as you don't have to wait for a bus or stop at other resorts. On our return, we schedule the car to pick us up about 2 1/2 hours prior to our flight (we only take carry-ons and print our boarding passes beforehand), so it does give us a little extra time on our departure day. We use the car service because we like the personalized service (and they also provide a booster for our son), but you can also very easily get a cab or uber (I believe only uberBlack can pick up at MCO). Cab or uber would be cheaper.

$1600 for a round trip ride in an SUV???? YIKES. Do people really pay that much???
LOL.... I'm sure not. I haven't played with the system but I suspect that is a package total, including various types of transportation, resort, tickets, etc
Though I could be quite wrong

Oh I bet you are right that this would be the whole package price. Otherwise I can't imagine anybody except Kanye and Kim doing it.

One thing to consider (which is what we do) we get a car service FROM the airport but we use Lyft/Uber back to the airport. They are half the price of a car service and can do exactly the same things going TO the airport. Just can't pick you up at the airport, unless it's UberBlack and that is the same cost at a car service.

We are doing this when we arrive. DME from the airport but Uber when we go home. :thumbsup2

We just do the round trip with Tiffany Towncar. Ordered it today, for an SUV, $170 round trip. Worth every penny to me, we have always enjoyed their service, and seeing the same driver that dropped us off, pick us up and ask all about or trip. It's fun! (but that Uber option makes a lot of sense for saving money).

X2 on this. You probably have our same driver as we get the SUV too. Having the same driver now multiple times has been really great and adds to our enjoyment of the trip. Great service too!
