I know this has been asked before but I can't locate the information. What is the "best case scenario" as far as travel time from MCO to Poly on DME. Southwest flight arrives at noon on a Friday in May. We will not be getting our own luggage.

It's about a half an hour from when the DME bus pulls out of the terminal. If you figure a best case scenario of when you get off the plane, walk to the airport shuttle, take that to the main terminal, head downstairs, check in at DME, board the bus right away, and have it leave right away to take about 15 minutes.
So I would say a best case scenario of about 45 minutes.

Best case if you land at Noon, 1:10 arrival at Poly.
Not best case if you land at Noon, 2:30 arrival at Poly.

2.5 hours? :faint: I know that's worst case, but I wonder if that's ever happened to anyone...

Multiple times.
Noon - plane lands
12:25 - walk off plane
12:45 - get in line at Magical Express
1:35 - leave MCO on bus
2:05 - arrive at resort #1
2:25 - arrive at resort #2
2:45 - arrive at our resort

These times are directly from my notes.

We must be lucky so far. We get our luggage, but we've never had to wait for our bus. Maybe sat on it for 20 minutes or so, but never as long as you have.

Perhaps it's the time we come? We are always first flight out of Chicago on a weekday. :)

Yeah, there's plenty of times we've walked right on the bus and been pulling out as soon as we sit down. But a couple times.......:scared1:

I'm arriving at 7:25am (yeesh stupid early flight, so cheap!) so we shall see how it goes......I have usually landed at around 9:30 or so, and it seems like people are just getting everything settled and booted up for the day.....so we shall see how many stops it takes me and how long we have to wait for a bus!

Yes, 2.5 hours happens. Landed at 10:30 (15 minutes early!), got off the plane, stopped at the restroom and went straight to ME area. Got on the bus after a short wait. Went to Ft Wilderness, then Wilderness Lodge. There was an accident near the Contemporary and traffic was a mess. After WL, we then went to GF. We went to Poly next because the driver couldn't figure out how to get to the Contemporary due to the accident. We got to Poly shortly after 1pm, 2.5 hours after landing. We were supposed to be last... I have no idea how long it took to get the Contemporary folks to their resort.

Ours is a pretty bad case, and by far the worst we had in three trips from 2015-2016. If you are trying to plan a time to do something such as a dining reservation or fast pass, I'd use the 2.5 hour estimate, plus travel time to whatever you want to do. If you just want a sense of when you'll get to the resort and hit the pool, the first response you got is all you need. :)

Also, hope you don't end up on the ME with us... We are always at the last resort dropped off. ;)

We just got back from Poly. We landed at 9:25 and got to Poly at 10:56. We didn't pick our bags up either.

We've had both best and worst case. Best was when we arrived at the Poly 1 hour after our flight landed. Last people on the bus, went to GF first but only dropped off one couple with minimal baggage, then dropped us off at Poly. Worst case was when we were the first to load onto the bus, waited 30 mins to fill the bus, stopped at WL first, then Contemporay (huge crowds got off at both), the GF, then finally the Poly. Arrived about 2.5 hours from the time our flight landed.

I've stayed all over WDW at different times of year, and have never had DME take more than 90 minutes from the time we walked off the plane to when we arrived at our resort.
