DME - Split stay with off prop

A friend of mine is using my DVC points to stay at OKW for 5 nights but then switching to one of the Disney Drive hotels for the last few nights of their vacation.

Using DME is not an issue on the inbound leg to OKW, but DME is not offered from the Disney Drive hotels so how can he use DME on the outbound leg of his trip ? Can he return to OKW and take DME from there or would he have to arrange for his own trans back to the airport ?

He'll have to arrange his own transport. He is not eligible for DME.

DME (from WDW to MCO) is only available ON or BEFORE the day you check out of your WDW hotel.

Do you mean the DTD hotels? If so, he might consider renting a car form one of the car rentals located at the DTD hotels and dropping off at the airport. This is usually cheaper than taxi fare. There is a Dollar in the Regal Sun, Avis in the Hilton, Budget in the Double Tree, and Alamo/Avis in Buena Vista Palace.

Or he can contact Mears Transportation for shuttle service to the airport, or he can walk (or take the HPB share bus) to Downtown Disney, then take the Lynx Route 111 bus to the airport.
