Anyone have any experience with using DME without having the vouchers or luggage tags in hand?

I just realized today (at two weeks out) that I never received my DME paperwork. I called MS to inquire and was told that UPS shows my package as being delivered to my home address on 12/26. :confused3 I went outside and looked around, but if its out there I'm not going to find it until spring.

Anyway, she said that I would be sent another package, but for some reason UPS is super slow delivering to me so I am worried that I'm not going to have it before we leave.

I know that I can use DME without the vouchers with no problem, but I am wondering about my luggage. Is it going to cause additional delays if I have to give them my airline luggage tickets instead of the yellow tags?

You would need to pick up your luggage at the airport and take it with you to the ME counter. It would then ride with you under the bus to your resort.

You don't have to grab your own luggage. It may take you five minutes longer at the Welcome Center than someone with tags and vouchers. The CM will give you a voucher, and will take your claim check number and suitcase description. There are DME CMs whose job it is to pull luggage for guests in similar positions.

When you get to DME checkin, they will ask you for ID first. Then, once they bring you up in the system, they will ask for your luggage claim tickets. Also how many bags you checked. I usually put something really unique on my bags so they stand out in case someone has to go looking for them! The CM will take a photo of the claim tickets.
Then, off to the bus and to your resort. Your bags should arrive just fine!
Or, you can go to baggage claim yourself, get the bags and have them stowed beneath your bus. This will add about 15 mins to your overall time...may be worth it vs waiting up to 4 hrs after resort checkin for the bags to get to you!
Your choice.

Thanks for the replies. I really don't want to have to carry my own luggage if I can help it, and I don't want to spend any more time than necessary at the airport.

I am just doing a long weekend trip with my two kids so we are hitting parks on arrival and departure days to maximize our time.

Fingers crossed that my vouchers and tags get here on time. :-) Sounds like I will be ok either way though.

I went on a last minute trip in August of 2012 and I didn't get luggage tags before leaving. It took five minutes at the counter with my baggage claim ticket and my ID, and my bags didn't take any longer to get to my room than they usually do with the yellow tags. :)
