DME Question

Ok, I know I can fly in the day before my stay at WDW starts and then take DME the next day. We plan to get a rental car for one day, do some other sightseeing and spend the night at a cheap hotel close to the airport. So my question is, after we return the rental car, where is DME in relation to that? And we won't have to go through security or anything right? We'd probably hit a grocery store with the rental and stock up on drinks so I just want to make sure we can carry those through the airport to DME. Thanks!

You won't have to go back through security. The rental car counters are on the same level and just down the counters a bit from the DME area.
Here's a thought....If you do your grocery shopping the night before, why not pack everything up before you head to bed. Then, first thing in the morning, drive to your WDW resort, drop off your stuff and most of your group. Then one or two can drive back to the airport and drop off the car and then take DME back to the resort.
Or, depending on which company you are renting through, you could return the car closer to WDW. Alamo/National are located at both the Car Care Center and at the Dolphin. Budget is located at the Doubletree in DTD. Budget offers a ride back to your resort and the CCC can shuttle you as well...as long as you let them know ahead of time.
Then, you could drop everyone at the resort and return the car and get a ride back to your resort.

Or you might want to check to see what the cost would be to return the car elsewhere in WDW. You could drive to WDW drop everyone and everything off at your resort and then return the car to the CCC or to one of the other rental companies in DTD and take their shuttle back to your resort.
