So, we are switching resorts midway through our stay. I just signed up for DME with our first reservation. How will this work to leave out of our second hotel??

Also, how does the transfer between resorts usually work, particularly with groceries??

Any experiences or advice is greatly appreciated!

(for reference, we are transferring from BWV to BLT)

DME has no problem dropping you off at one resort and picking you up from another. Just make sure they have accurate info from you.

Bell Services can move your stuff between resorts. They also have refrigerators with freezers so your stuff can be frozen/cold before and after the move. Coordinate with them and make sure they know you have perishables. You'll still have to get yourselves from one place to the other. Most people just go out to the parks for the day, then head back to the new resort afterwards via Disney transportation.

We do this switch every summer. I am on hold right now with MS to set up ME for our upcoming August trip.

When you talk to MS, just have them set it up for going to BWV for that reservation and set up a return trip from your BLT reservation. Its simple and easy. You will get two different sets of vouchers in the mail, with the luggage tags with the inbound reservation.

In terms, of transfer, just take your things to Bell Services (or have them pick them up in your room) the morning of the transfer, let them know what groceries need to be refrigerated--I ended up saving the bags from the grocery delivery for the transfer--and head off. The transfer of luggage happens in the afternoon so you wont have things until 3 or 4 pm. We left out a bag with swimsuits, etc. and then took a taxi to Bay Lake to drop those off ourselves so we had them if we got back to the resort before the room was ready.

It's very easy to do...we enjoy the split stay.

Good luck!

We did the split stay last year with half at VWL and half at BLT. VWL Bell Services picked up for us and BLT delivered when we were in our room. Food transfer was great so long as we told them which bag to keep in the fridge. And DME was just as noted above. Real easy. Have a great time!

Does the luggage transfer work from hotels to villas? We are headed to food and wine and have OKW starting on Saturday. For a number of complicated reasons, we are flying in Friday night and staying at All Star Movies. Will they transfer our luggage from All Star to OKW? Do you have to worry about them moving valuables like laptops, tablets etc.?

Just be aware that you'll receive two sets of documents, one that only lists the arrival and one that only lists the departure. And every time I've done it, the CM at arrival notices that the book does not have any departure listed (since that's a separate book) and asks me if I'd like to book it. All I do is say "split stay" and they're OK. But you'd think they'd expect that!

When we did our DME, we didn't receive two booklets... just one. And yes, that one only had arrival information - no departure.

I even wondered how they'll know to pick us up at BVW (our first stay was at BCV) -- but 1 day before departure, we got a packet at BVW with our ME schedule.

ME services can set up a lot if different scenarios. We have an upcoming split stay. We are flying in with my FIL and MIL, so will go to resort together. When we check out, FIL and MIL will take ME and depart. We are transfering to another resort for a longer vacation and will take ME from there. So, they can do different things for different members of your party.

I assume it is customary to tip Bell Service for a transfer, what is the typical amount?
