DME One Way?

I'm planning on getting a rental car for the first two days of our vacation (staying off property at first) and returning it after we check into our Disney resort. Can I use the DME only for the return trip to the airport?

Second thought - If I plan my return time carefully, can I get a 'lift' on the DME after returning my car to the airport? (After having checked into the resort.)

Interesting question.....if you give DME flight arrival info that would appy for the time you would be at the airport, then you may be able to do it. But, if I were you, I wouldn't check into the resort first. Let everyone else checkin, but you checkin when you arrive by DME. Not sure if it will let you ride if you already show up as checked in....not even sure if you do show up as checked in!! So, drop everyone else off, then head to the airport, return the car, head to DME. Make the reservation for all of you, but just you show up. Give them flight times that are actually flights arriving at the appropriate time for your car drop off.
Or, just arrange to drop the car off someplace in WDW...Alamo/National use the Car Care Center and the Dolphin, other agencies are based in DTD and some provide shuttles back to your resort.
