This April will be our first time using DME and I have a few questions that I hope someone can answer for me. Fisrt- when we check our luggage in at RAC, do we check our carry ons and backpacks also? Then when it is time to board the bus do we go to RAC and pick up our carryons and back packs and take them on the bus with us? And do we tip the bus driver when get to the airport?

No, RAC is remote/resort airline checkin. It's just like checking your luggage at the airport, only from 30 miles away. You dont give them anything you want before you land back at your home airport. You could leave stuff with luggage service / bell services then pick them up and take them on the DME bus for the return trip to the airport.

Thank you for the quick reply. It is such a relief to have all your questions answered before your vacation starts. This will be our first time flying to Disney and trying to remember all the little things that need to be done that you don't need to do when driving is a little scary.

Hey, we're neighbors too, or close enough :)

What airline are you flying?

When you return back to your resort to pick up the ME, remember to leave some extra time to retrieve your carry-ons and backpacks from Bell Services.

If you arrive back at a time when people are beginning to check-in and they are busy with people helping them offload their luggage from their cars, you may have to wait about ten to fifteen minutes for them to retrieve everything. Just leave yourself a bit extra time.

Thanks, I will be sure to leave plenty of time. I never thought about the time it takes to get our stuff. This is new to us.

We were going to go out all day and come back at about 2:30 pm. Our ME time was 3:30 pm. We were first in line to retrieve our backpacks.

We got our stuff just in time, because all of the sudden, all these cars drove up for check-in at 3:00 pm. It hadn't crossed my mind.

Yea, and the DME bus needs to keep on schedule, so they dont wait around for people to show up. This is one case you want to be early, not just 'on time' because on time could get you left :)
