Thanks to Delta I was allowed to change my outbound flight to an earlier one (without fees) :woohoo: when they changed my flights. I called DME to notify them and so the new flight is in their system but not on the voucher that I received.

I have my tags, so I shouldn't need to notify DME at MCO when I arrive that there are bags to be picked up from such and such flight right?

Don't worry about it. I got moved to an earlier flight to MCO a few weeks ago. DME got my bags just fine. I had no way to let them know I was arriving hours earlier than my DME reflected. I wasn't concerned at all. As long as you have the right resort reservation info in that barcode, you're good to go.

Thanks...I knew you'd come through for me.....

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

I don't think they look for particular flights or particular person's luggage, most flights have someone using it. They just pull the tagged luggage before they go out to the carousels. They scan the barcode to track it.

Yellow tagged bags are summarily removed to the resorts upon arrival at MCO unsynchronized with guest movements (unless accidentally overlooked). The flight information taken when you book your DME reservation is for statistics and bus passenger load planning purposes.

It actually does not make sense to detain baggage at the airport pending the guest's checking in to DME. This increases the average time for baggage to magically appear in your room as well as add more handling maneuvers for the DME crew. The only downside is if once in a blue moon someone fails to remove their yellow tags before going home and the baggage is whisked off to Disney upon arrival in Orlando for the next, non-Disney, trip.

Going to Disney it is not worth it to keep chasing DME with a phone call each time your flight changes by only a coupl'a hours. It is not worth it to ever call DME from the six dollar a minute Air Fone in the airplane seatback to make a last minute change.

I was actually pleasantly surprised regarding our return flight. The flight kept slipping a couple of minutes every few weeks; from departing MCO at 6:00 pm to 6:37 pm.

They picked up the change when we received our packet under the door, since they had the flight no. I thought we were going to be picked up at 3:00 pm for ME departure, based on the original time, but they picked us up at 6:30 pm.

I was certain that I'd read that as long as the bag has a tag it will be picked up. As for calling DME with the new flight info.....I figured it couldn't hurt. :thumbsup2

MissyTara: DME picked you up for a 6:37 flight at 6:30? Surely that can't be right...

Oops - yeah - typo..... 3:30 pm, they picked us up. ME noted the change in the flight departure time and adjusted our pick-up time accordingly without me having to call and reschedule.
