We are flying and I'm thinking it would be easier to just stop (we will have a rental car) to pick up things like shampoo, conditioner, etc once we get there, rather than packing it all. That is if there is a store close to the resorts.

Edited to add: I know there will be shampoo etc in the room, but my daughter and I have some chemical allergies so we have to be careful with what we use.

Which Hotel are you staying at?

At the corner of Harbor and Katella there is a CVS and a Walgreen's(not sure if it is open yet), so those are the best "walking" choices.

If you want to do some major shopping, I like taking the OCTA Route 543/43 Bus about 3 miles north on Harbor to the corner of Orangethorpe. The bus stops at the In-n-Out Burger, a great place to eat. Here you have COSTCO, a Super Walmart, Target and a Sprouts Farmers Market (Grocery Store similar to Whole Foods), also lots of other options including Dollar Stores (great for basic items), a Sketcher's Outlet Store and more.

Target is fairly close. Since you have a rental car you'll find pretty much any major store you're looking for. Do a search on maps.

Yes, the Walgreens at the corner of Harbor and Katella is open. I was at DL the last week of August and the Walgreens had just opened.

We are right across the street from the entrance at the Best Western.

Would the In and Out Burger and those locations be in route coming from Hollywood. We are going there first and then considering eating at that In & Out burger before going to the hotel if it's on the way.

Yes, take the I-5 South to the 91 East (Special carpool exit) to the Harbor Blvd/Lemon St/Anaheim Blvd exit (same exit - #28). At the first light, make a left onto Harbor Blvd. A few blocks you will see the In-n-Out on the right.

When done, just head south down Harbor to the DLR.
