I found MK to have very few twinkle lights and minimal use of colored lights to create ambiance. I also thought Epcot was really dark. I did not get to see Pandora at night, though, and I've heard it is magical.

I am curious if the lighting I experienced at DW last week is normal or if there is a change due to lower numbers/cost savings etc. I got a later reservation at BOG to experience MK at night and I was very disappointed so I'm curious to hear from DW regulars.

That’s the normal lighting, unfortunately. The WDW parks are so much bigger and more spread out compared to DLR parks, although I’m not sure that’s the reason. But thank you for bringing that up - it reminded me of my first trip to DL in the early 60s. My siblings and I were 11, 10, and 9 years old and were entranced by “all the Tinker Bells” in the trees approaching the castle!
