This has been rumoured about on various sites for a few months, but we're just now receiving official confirmation from DLR about it.

As we celebrate the 200th Anniversray of the birth of President Abraham Lincoln, The Disneyland Story, featuring Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln will be returning to the Main Street Opera House later this year.

To facilitate this, the current show, Disneyland: The First 50 Magical Years will be going down for refurb starting from 16 March 2009. The end date for the refurbishment has not been announced.

In addition, the Disney Gallery, formerly located above the Pirates of the Carribean Attraction, will be relocated this fall to the Bank of Main Street.

The Bank of Main Street will continue to serve Disneyland Resort Annual Passholders until about mid-Summer, when AP services are expected to be relocated to the Plaza Pavilion in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle.

An exact reopening date for the Disney Gallery has yet to be announced, but will likely be this fall.

Hey there nice finding you here and one of my favourite people from that other site. I will be having to make a special trip to see that show as I missed it last time I was there. This sounds like a good compromise but I wish they would put the Gallery in the Plaza spot as the Bank is so close to the front. Thanks for the update.

I'm excited about Lincoln coming back. I really want my kids to see it.

That's great news. I have never seen the Lincoln show & will look forward to it our next trip, but my trip in 10 days I will definately go see the First 50 yrs movie again.
Also excited about the Disney Gallery reopening. We loved to look at the art when it was above POTC, not that I could afford anything in there, but absolutely enjoyed looking, drooling & looking somemore!! :rotfl:

Thanx for the updates!!!

I'm excited about this!! There was rumors that part of the Opera House was going to be the gallery, I'm glad that won't be true and the gallery will be in the bank.

So will Plaza Pavillion still be called Plaza Pavillion? Or something to the effect of the bank/AP Processing?

Thank you, glendalais!! :)

I am really excited to see the Lincoln show. I never have seen it.

Also I am a little confuzzled... The bank of Main Street. Is it totally being replaced with the art gallery?

Thanks for the update!

Has the Disney gallery been closed already?

Man oh Man!

Where did you get this information? What other website?

They keep bringing back the originals and its killing me!
I've been twice to Disneyland. Both times IASM was closed for refurbishment. Now they have opened Sleeping Beauty's Castle for a walk through, and now Great Moments!?! They keep sucking me back in!!!

So when do they anticipate this happening?

I think so! They're probably going to gut out the bank and the little Disney Visa window that next door to the bank and turn that into the gallery

It closed awhile back and was replaced with the Dream Suite.
