I posted in the Southern CA theme park thread but haven't got a nibble yet, so I'll try this here...

We're doing DLR etc, flying in Thurs. June 12th and out Wed. June 18th. We will probably now have a rental car that I hadn't originally planned on. We want to do one day at Universal. Would you do DLR on the weekend (thinking the crowds will be even heavier later during that week as schools get out) and save Universal 'till the last day (Tuesday)? Or do Universal that weekend in the hopes of minimizing traffic stress, and hoping DLR will be less crowded early in the week?

Any advice is appreciated...popcorn::

Definitely do Universal during the weekend. There is not nearly enough to see and do compared to Disneyland. Save DL for a the weekday, its not as bad as the weekend.

Were also doing universal on the weekend. also getting those front of the line passes. also one day knotts. not sure what day to do knotts yet.

I would save DL for weekday and US for weekend

at US get there early

the hours for that weekend are 9am -8pm try doing The Mummy and Jurrasic park first...

Have Fun!!

I'm not sure if I would spend the extra money on the front of the line passes. Make sure you check out all the particulars on them. I think you can only use it on something like 5 rides. Read the fine print first. We didn't enjoy Universal very much. It was a nice place, but not much to do in comparison with Disneyland. Of course this may have been because we were there in December and it was freezing. Just my opinion though.

I also wouldn't waste my money on the Universal "Front of the Line" passes.

We were there during spring break, and didn't hardly wait for any rides at all. I think we only ended up waiting for the Mummy for a couple minutes, and that was the maximum for all rides.

Get there when they open, and you will have a chance to see and do everything. (We went on a Wednesday - during spring break.)

We also did Knotts.

It is a very confusing park. My son loved it, because he loves coasters. But the entrances on some rides are hard to find (like the Xcellerator). And watch out for the Ghost Rider. It is rated the 3rd best roller coaster in the United States, and is ROUGH!! I love wooden coasters, and it is crazy - and not in a good way, IMO. DH, DS, and I all walked off saying "Is there a Chiropractor anywhere in the park??".

We got to Knotts at opening at 10am, and were ready to leave at 3pm (our bus was not leaving until 6pm - we should have taken a taxi ($10) back to our hotel, but instead just hung out at the gift area) because we had already done everything we wanted to do. (We went on a Tuesday during spring break.)

Be sure to pick up some Knotts Boysenberry Seedless Jam!!! I am almost out of mine - it is sooooo good!!

Have fun!!
