I have a spring break coming up in mid March. I am in desperate need of a vacation. I can't decide between another trip to DLR or Las vegas.

DLR-
most rooms on Harbor are gone which makes me nervous about crowds, Hilton Anaheim is available for 87 a night
Can you walk from the Hilton? I heard that there is a shortcut through the GCH
breakfast nearby for cheap?

Vegas-
I can stay at the Paris for 90 a night or MGM for 82 a night

I was just at DLR in October and will be back in September for run, been to vegas many times but haven't been in a year or so.

SO which would you choose DISers?

Welll.... I would always pick DLR! BUt that is just me...you are asking on a Disney board too :rotfl:!!!!!

But, really, depends on what you want and what the others you are going with will be into!

I'd say DL too! As was mentioned by PP you are on a DL board so most people are going to say the same. We went the week between Christmas & New Years which was VERY busy and still had a wonderful time! I like Vegas too but I would say..how many days is your vacation that might determine which would be better for you.

Why not do both? We did that at Christmas last year and will be doing the same this December. You could do 2-3 days in Vegas and 3-4 days in DLR.

You might try priceline at 4 stars and see if you get the Hilton cheaper. But know that parking is expensive and needs to be figured in.

You can walk, but it's a march that makes many people use a shuttle. The shortcut you'er thinking of sin't through the GCH, it was through the parking lot and is now gone. You could walk to the Toy Story lot, though it seems most people still use the shuttle.

What about the place you stayed last time? Is it more expensive for Spring break too?

In your case of DL or LV, I'd flip a coin just to have some fair influence.

I understand your concern. It sounds like you might be trying to go the same time I am. If you are looking at the 12th and 13th most harbor hotels are booked. They have a few openings for the 14th on. You may think about booking one and switching to another if staying on Harbor is important to you!

I too am nervous about the crowds, but you know how to get there at rope drop, use fastpass, go back to the hotel and rest and stay late. Also, if you are going that weekend a lot of people will probably flow in later on Sunday the 12th, due to day light savings time. That could give you from 7am (MM) until 11 or noon to get in a lot of rides...

Even though it will be crowded, I would choose DLR over Vegas any time. Vegas was nice, but there's something so magical and relaxing about DLR, no matter the crowds. If you go knowing it will be crowded and have the mindset of relaxing and having fun, you will have a wonderful vacation!

WOW thanks for all the thoughts...maybe I just needed the push to go back to DLR.

I stayed at the Holiday inn in Garden Grove but it wasn't great. The prices for room are pretty high everywhere. The hampton inn was 120 a night :scared1:. SO I thought 87 a night for the Hilton was pretty good. Looks like a 3 day pass for ART shuttle is 10 if you buy online.

I was planning spending 3 nights at DLR or 2 nights in Vegas. Both is not an option. That is too much money right now. Plus I need to be home on the 17th for a concert.

Not too worried about crowds...I went to WWoHP opening weekend and survived. :woohoo:

We are spending 5 nights in Vegas in May and then 5 nights at Disneyland. We have a rental car and it's a very easy drive to DL. Did this last year as well. We prefer just off the strip as the driving and highway access is easier. We like Rio, but Goldcoast has really good rates for March.
