DLR Newbie...How feasible is it to switch btwn parks during the day?

As of this morning, my experience is it is NOT possible to do this.

I was 2nd in line at the gate to enter DCA at the non-early opening while my party was in DL. I was intended to be the fastpass runner and had all our physical tickets, which were originally E-tickets purchased and linked on the app, but they had only been scanned at DL so far. There were cast members walking the fastpass line saying repeatedly "You cannot pull a fast pass for any ticket that has not already been scanned into THIS PARK." (So I wasted an hour in the gate line, had to get out of line and meet my party to scan them into DCA and get back in fastpass line. Life of a runner.)
I'm curious as to what would have happened if you'd attempted it. It seems suspect.

Exactly. It has always been the case that scanning entrance media at one park enables fastpass from both parks. Despite this, the CMs are famous for spreading misinformation about this. There has been more than one report on these boards of CMs telling people it's not possible, while there are simultaneous reports of people doing exactly this. Until someone actually attempts getting a FP and reports failure, I would continue to believe that you only need your ticket scanned at one park to get FPs at either park.

Well, if you're gonna spread misinformation it's a good tactic to tell people that when they're in a line at least half an hour back from the fast pass machine (and growing)... I didn't want to test it and be wrong!

Had you already gone through the DCA gates at some point either today or on your existing tickets? I just posted about the opposite at GOTG today.

If you guys were not already scanned in to DCA, my guess is either 1) its ride-specific or 2) they are preparing to make this a rule so announcing it to people to prep them and disincentivize the behavior they are trying to change, but the technology doesn't fully work yet.

Either seems a little odd honestly, lol.
It could be ride specific to GotG because the FP are so popular right now. I remember CMs saying similar things the first few weeks RSR was open. And I can understand why they don't want people pulling FP so that they run out quickly only to have a significant number go unused. Making sure that anyone who pulls an FP is at least in the park until it dies down is one way to try to cut down on that. We'll see if they require you to actually be in each individual park once MaxPass starts.

The three of us who were at DL had not yet scanned in to DCA at all during the day when the fourth person went to DCA to pull FP for RSR.

You can't get a Fastpass on a ticket/annual pass that hasn't been scanned into that specific park, I learned that the hard way.
Scan into only one park required.

Has anyone tried getting an FP in one park with a ticket that has only been scanned in the other park since the 2 FP systems were linked around the 2nd week of April? I tried pulling an FP in DCA and then walking right over to DL and the paper the machine spit out said I already had an FP in DCA. It's possible that you do now have to scan your tickets in both parks. I haven't tested that aspect of it yet.
Did it last weekend.
