Does anyone know if the lockers are available inside Disneyland again? If not, how inconvenient is it to use the ones by Downtown Disney?

Also, I'm getting mixed messages about bringing sack lunches/snacks into Disneyland. A friend of mine is taking a group of teenagers and was hoping to pack lunch to save money. We've never tried this -- thoughts?

The Disneyland lockers are open and available for guests to use. I would use those over the ones in the Esplanade if you're planning on being in DL. If you're going to park hop a lot or go out to DTD, then the Esplanade lockers are fine. If you're planning on staying in DL, then having a locker in the park is much more convenient because you won't have to deal with exiting the park (easy) and then coming back in (can be slow if the ticket gate lines are long).

The technical answer is that you're not supposed to bring outside food in DLR, but in practice, guests bring in sack lunches and snacks all of the time. The only real limitations are you cannot bring in items in glass containers (except small bottles of perfume and baby food), nor can you bring in the makings for sandwiches (e.g., you can bring in a pre-made sandwich, but no loaf of bread, pack of lunch meats, etc.). Also, no knives (for making or cutting of food).

I'm not sure about the ones inside DL, but we always use the ones in the Esplanade. There are a lot by the customer service to the left of the gates to DL and then a bunch more on the left of the gates to DCA. We are always going back and forth so it's easier to just grab stuff on the way from one to the other.

They won't stop you from bringing in lunches or snacks as long as it's already assembled. You can bring bagged sandwiches for everyone, but not a loaf of bread and a jar of peanut butter, for example. And no glass containers.

There are 2 sizes. I think it's $8 and $10. Sometimes you have to take what's available. There are also picnic lockers outside the bag check that might be a little bigger. Not sure if those cost more.

For your $8 or $10, is it all day use? Meaning, can I put things in and take things out all day?

Yes, you can take stuff in and out all day. It will ask you if you are finished using the locker when you go to open it.

The DL website has a map of the lockers and price list. the ones on the esplanade are designed for lunches and things you cant take inside. IIRC they are $15 for the day.

I was going to past a link but my computer is acting up.

There are three sizes of lockers inside the parks (and in the Esplanade, I think): Jumbo ($15), Large ($10), and Standard ($7) (at least as of Memorial Day weekend). There aren't very many "Jumbo" lockers inside the parks, so I wouldn't count on getting one of those (I've only gotten it once in DCA), but the Large and Standard are more plentiful.

WDWinfo.com's Guest Services page has the locker dimension (scroll down to Lockers). I think the "X-Large" is now called "Jumbo" when you're in the parks, but it may not be the same as the "Jumbo" that in the Espalande lockers. I haven't actually measured the locker dimensions, but the touch screen at all four locations that I've been to (DCA, DL, Esplanade by DL and Esplande by DCA) only list three sizes that I can remember (I don't recall seeing five options for the lockers in the Esplanade).

There's lockers on the esplanade past bag check and there's lockers in the picnic area before bag check. Obviously you can't pass bag check with prohibited items, they'll direct you to the other lockers.

I rented one of the Esplanade lockers before CHOC walk and there was a little guide that said which one to get based on how many bags. I thought the locker was smaller than what they indicated would fit, but I guess I go have a pretty big backpack. It was a little like unpacking and re packing a clown car when we went to use it. For purchases I would just check those and only use the locker for squishable things like sweatshirts.
