While I am from California, for the past several years we have visited WDW rather than DLR. (A GREAT place to travel with food allergies!)

We plan to take a trip to DLR in September and I love to prepare in advance. I have already researched that I can get a hand-out at City Hall on Main street once I enter the park which will let me know which places have Gluten-Free items. If any of you happen to already have this list and can share it with me I would greatly appreciate it. I want to plan where we will be and when and it is much easier if I know where I can find food that will work.

Thanks so much in advance!

I'm not sure of restaurants, but the dining number is (714) 781-DINE. I know you call it to make reservations, so they might be able to help you in advance.

I would love to see the list too if anyone has it. OP, please give us an update if you get any more info. Thanks!

I have the list. :) It's about 1 and 1/2 years old, but I don't think much has changed. I actually received it by e-mail from a wonderul person at disney dining when I called them. This person went out of her way to send me 2 e-mails with lists of info. regarding gluten-free meals, etc. There are several pages of info., so please P.M. me if you are interested and I will e-mail them to you.

fyi if you are at almost any restaurant at DLR/DCA you can tell them you have a gluten allergy and they can alter your dishes for you. I know they have gluten free pasta & pizza at Pizza Port in DLR and I know you can get your burgers/chicken sandwiches at TPG with NO buns, you just have to let them know when you order. :) The mexican places have corn tortillas also. :)

I just found this updated list as of April, 2010, that someone had posted on their website. Hope this is helpful to everyone. :)

I did go with my friend and they are gluten free and also type one diabetic. The one thing I would say, is many of the locations listed above have no idea that they have gluten free options. I remember waiting in line for an hour for a gluten free hotdog, and then ending up without a bun, because the CM was clueless.
That being said, they chefs at each sit down place were wonderful and my friends were delighted to have pancake and waffle options and they said they were really good!

For any of you that are diabetic as well, the carb counts for the baked items were not available and the normal assumptions were very difficult to get right, as the gluten free stuff is so carb dense, and so our little guy's gluten numbers were crazy high.

You're welcome! ...... Hope it helps. :) I was really happy to find a recent list posted online!:)

Yes, I really want to thank you Disneyfan$ever54 for going the extra mile. I hope that someday Disneyland Resort will be a place that is as easy to enjoy a meal as it is at DisneyWorld for those of us with food special needs. Here's a GF mickeybar for you :mickeybar

You're very welcome!.....I'm very happy that I can be of some help. :) I think it's great that those of us who have special dietary needs are able to share our info./experiences with others on this board. Meal planning for special diets at Disneyland can be very challenging. And THANK YOU for the yummy mickeybar!......(my waistline thanks you that it's the low calorie kind.....LOL)

Has anyone been recently and seen an updated list? I called to see if there was any way to see the current gluten free options in advance of going and no one was able to help me. We are going in 2 weeks and my husband would like to have an idea in advance of how well prepared the quick service food places are to handle gluten free requests.

I was just there in December and believe that I still have the list. If I do, I'll scan it in when I get to work on Monday. I'm gluten-intolerant, and love going to Disneyland because of the list.

I will say that some restaurants are more knowledgeable about it than others, and if you want, say, a hamburger on a gluten-free bun, you need to be prepared to wait about 10-20 minutes for it (no exaggeration, I waited for 20+ minutes at the burger place in DCA last month on a quiet day). From now on, I'll just order the burger without a bun instead of getting a gluten-free bun, as I think it will go faster (and I find gluten-free buns to have the texture of old, stale bread, so I'm not a fan in general).

Let me look for the list tomorrow, and I'll let you know!
(Also, while not on the list, the restaurants in Downtown Disney also do gluten-free menus.)

thank you so much!

Does anybody have an updated list for GF at DL/DCA? My dd(9) and dh are both GF.

Most items are for grown ups. It looks like (from what I can gather) that bunless hot dogs or burgers are the only options for the kids? I agree w. a PP that the GF buns aren't worth the wait. Dd usually hates them :(.

I am going to try calling the dining line to see if they can help.

I think one of the restaurants in DL has a kid's chicken and rice bowl. Is that French Market? I can't remember.

TIA!

I was there in July and got the list but the one place that I really wanted to eat at wasn't on it. So I just walked up to the counter and asked if they had anything gluten free and was told yes! This was at the Bengal BBQ and I was able to have anything they made but without sauce. I was fine because the bacon wrapped asparagus was what I was really, really wanting. I wish that the printout made it home with me so I could share it but unfortunately it disappeared. :confused3
