Hello!
When we visit DLP in May I will be 20 weeks pregnant. I was wondering which rides I should avoid, and which ones I will be ok with?

I read up on ride restrictions on another site and it suggested not to go on BTM or POTC. I can't see how either of these wold be too 'wild' for a pregnant lady? :confused3 Obviously I wouldn't do Space Mountain or IJ which turn you upside down and bash you about :rotfl: I figured that if I would take my 3 year old on a ride, then I could take my bump on a ride- perhaps not?

As for food, I've been looking up some menus and working out which meals I couldn't eat- ie Auberge, the starter would be out- pate, smoked salmon etc, and I really fancied trying the Blue Lagoon, but I realised that the only dish I might fancy was swordfish, which you can't eat when pregnant!!

Anyway, I can't wait to go, and if I can't do something this time, I will just have to plan another trip when the baby arrives. :lovestruc

Hmmm, we went 3 times during pregnancy with my wife. It made for very different trips. The issue with the attractions is a lot of them bump (we actually found It's a Small World to be the worst).

Now Disney do have warnings to stop you sueing them should the worst happen. But we found the following were on Sarah's list of ok rides:

Train
Phantom Manor
Adventure Isle
Passage de Aladdin
Pirates of the Caribbean
Peter Pan
Pinocchio
Snow White
dumbo
Castle
Alice's Curious Labrynth
(Buzz I imagine, it was le Visionarium when she was carrying)
Capt Eo
Nautilus

Animagique
Cinemagique
Stitch Live
Moteurs Action
Flying Carpets

As for dining, she found a lot of no goes. Even the duck was undercooked. Something she would normally love, but not adviseable in pregnancy. It pains me to say it, but we found on those trips, junk food was the best choice (especially when affected by morning/evening sickness).

We're going in the middle of May and my gf will be 22 weeks by then. She doesn't like coasters anyway so they wont be a problem.

Thanks for the list Dave. The only thing that she likes that we were planning on avoiding was Star Tours but perhaps we'll give Small World a miss aswell. Come to think of it, we've always found Snow White and Pinnochio to be very bumpy, probably more so than Small World. Might have to avoid them to.

Ooops, I forgot to add, she did chance it on It's A Small World too.

Definately DO NOT do the coasters (even Big Thunder - the bar is the key issue when going down towards the splash down for example), Autopia or Star Tours.

Thanks for the replies and advice.

Wild horses wouldn't keep me off IASW so bump will have to just enjoy it- they've got many trips ahead of them yet!!:rotfl:

1st congrats on your pregnancy.
As regards the rides I think fantasyland holds the most options for you. I would do lots of shows and take very comfy shoes.
For dining out I would explain to waiting staff that you need your meat very well done. Dont forget the rennies for heartburn especially with all the rich foods.
All I wanted on ds was incinerated steaks so there was no fear of me getting ill! Any strange cravings?
Also the shop facing the photography shop on Main st has the most gorgeous sleepsuits.
Have a great trip xxx

I reckon the Studio Tram Tour should be OK as well.

Also, have a look in the shop in the DLH to see if they have any Baby's First Xmas decorations (can't remember if they had some or not when we last went). We have a separate smaller Xmas tree which we fill with decorations from all our holidays - got some lovely ones from DLP, Buckingham Palace, Wedgewood, Waterford Crystal etc.

Hi, Congratulations I went last October at 30 weeks did't have a problem with any of the rides, did't go on the obvious ones like BTM, Space Mountain, Crusher any of the roller coasters really including Slinky in the Studios, queued for it then went to get on and was told I could't ride it *** of the bar. Never had a problem on small world must have gone on it about 5 times (we had a 3 year old with us), the only thing the midwife advised was the teacups might make you feel sick. Go to the Town Hall and ask for a pregnancy pass which lets you go to the exit on some of the rides and also for autograph signings. Have a wonderful time.

Hi, I'm a newbie on the forum. Firstly congratulations, and I hope you have a wonderful trip. My first proper holiday trip to DLP (as opposed to a day trip) was when I was 22 weeks pregnant with DD. I would agree with Davewasbaloo that the coasters (and TOT) are probably not advisable. I went on pretty much everything else, including teacups, POTC and IASW, and had a brilliant time. I guess it very much depend on how your are feeling at the time. Restaurant wise, I didn't find any problems with finding at least one option I could eat at the restaurants (incl Walts and the Blue Lagoon). I wasn't aware of the pregnancy pass until our last day (and last ride) when the CM on IASW told me about it when we were exiting the ride. I think she took pity on me because even at that stage my bump was big!. Ironically, the most challenging thing I encountered on the trip in terms of being pregnant was staying off site. We stayed at the DreamCastle Hotel, which was lovely, but the trip to and from the park on the shuttle bus was not pleasant. At the time DS was about 18 months old, and the buses were very crowded, and in my view, not at all bump or buggy friendly. On subsequent trips, we have stayed on-site, which was better for us, as we could just walk round the lake to get to the parks.

I went when I was 26 weeks pregnant and if you go to City Hall they give you a pass. It gives you a seated area for parades, instant access to meet and greets and with rides. It says on there what rides you can / can not go on.

I remember Peter Pan was a no no though due to the bumps.

I recall being allowed on carousel, its a small world, alices labrynth, buzz, the railroad and not much else lol.
