dlp to versailles

Thinking of taking day trip to Versailles what is the fastest and easiest way there and back from our DLP hotel. We are spending 2 1/2 days at the parks so I figure we can spend our 3rd full day going there. Any suggestions or ideas on the trip would be appreciated. FYI we are spending 2 nights in paris itself after DLP so we will hit things in the city then.

You can take the metro directly to Versailles. I stayed at a hotel at Versailles end I believed the metro stop is very close - walking distance.

For a VERY different dining experience n a Paris and excellent food, try "Dans Le Noir". It is staffed and operated by the visually impaired and part of the proceeds go to the charities. You eat in complete darkness the entire meal. The food is great!! But, they only tell you what you ate after the meal.

Visit the Catacombs and nearby graveyards. Amazing.

To be honest, I'd go to Versailles whilst you're staying in Paris, otherwise you're going to waste time travelling to/from Paris in order to get to Versailles. If you buy your tickets online in advance then you can arrive for opening and will be ahead of the coach parties arriving. The queues for security were bad enough at opening time without having to queue to buy tickets as well. I don't know where you're staying in Paris but we stayed near the Eiffel Tower and used the RER C line to Versailles Rive Gauche, it took about 25 minutes, make sure you go to Rive Gauche because it's the nearest station to the chateau.

Enjoy, it really is a beautiful place.

are the catacombs open in November?
we don't have enough time to Versailles when we are in paris so going on a day from DLP is our only chance. How long is the average trip to Versailles by trainfrom DLP thinking of leaving 8am on a Tuesday mid November so hoping its not to crowded
