Dlp Shares

Once you get the shares, apply straight away. If you e-mail them the date of your trip they will probably send you a temporay number so you could at least get all the discounts while on your trip.
Or ask Mum and Dad for your present early. ;)

Hmm, good thought. I don't think I can get them early as I will not be 18 so they would have to be put in one of my parents names and then handed over to me. If I do get them, I'll try emailing them my trip dates.

square gain are now called selftrade, they sell different kinds of eurodisney sca shares, not sure which is the right kind. anyone?:confused3

I think you can hold shares in your name under the age of 18. I remember my cousins doing this when they were about 12 years old.

Well, it was agreed with my mum, her friend (with the financial wisdom of the stockmarket) and I that I am going to get them early if possible so that I can join the club and then book using it for my trip in June.

My mum was very glad that she had not bought shares in DLRP in 1990 when they were being issued at £11 pounds an old share! I guess the fact I was born 4 weeks early stopped her from paying that much for a share!

Just two questions, when I book, will I have to pay for tickets and room separately or can they be purchased as the "Classic" package and can I still book transport through Disney even though I don't get a discount on that?

Also, when we were looking at them last night, it seemed a bit odd that you only needed 5 to join and 20 to never have to pay an admin charge, it seemed a bit too good to be true...

I have always managed to get discount of a classic package when I have booked. It is true you only need 5 shares to join & 20 to waiver the fee, don't forget they will be dearer to buy then the old shares because of the restructure, hence why you only need 5 to become a member

So stupid question, but I want to make sure I do it correctly,

Once I've got the shares, how exactly do I join the shareholders club.

All the eurodisney website says is to fill in the form and post off the proof. Would this be a photocopy or do you get it back if its the real deal?

TIA

I just sent a photocopy of my share certificate & mailed it off with the membership form.

If you are ordered through seftrade or the like you will not get a certificate. In this case print out a copy of the transaction confirming the purchase. Send a copy of this with your application :)

Is there a downloadable membership form or do you mean the online form?

In the past you had to print off the membership form and post it along with proof of ownership.
I suspect with the on-line form you'll be sent details and asked to confirm ownership later :)

Thanks, the way it sounded on the website was that you filled in the form and sent the proof off once you had filled it in but how would they confirm they were yours. I think I may have to call them up to clarify as I really don't want to mess it up and we're trying to get it done so that we can book our trip for june.

Sorry to restart an old thread and to double post.

After a while of looking around to find shares I have now found out that the main 2 places I was looking at cannot have my name on the shares as I am still under 18. This was through Selftrade and Natwest. Natwest said that they could be put under a trustee (which would have to be the bank) and thus, I would not get any of the advantages as they would technically belong to the bank.

So, after that, does anyone actually have shares who is under 18 and how did you get them.

(I really don't want to have to wait until may and have the possibility of not having the shareholders card in June!!!)

TIA

I suspect that until your 18 you will not be able to hold them in your own name. Probably best to wait t May if you want the shareholders club to be in your name :)

Yeah, It just sucks that I will get them soooo close to going and to miss out on all the great discounts...
