Hi ,
I am really interested in buying some shares in DLP , however Natwest have told me my shares would be held 'electronically'
and I would receive a 'letter of entitlement'
Would this be sufficient evidence to join the Shareholders Club , or does anyone have any other ideas where I could buy them - Natwest siad I would be looking at commission of £50.
Thanks
Sam:)

Hi EllieJ

I purchased my shares through NatWest a few months ago without any problems. The Shareholders Club accepts the statement from NatWest as proof of ownership (I got NatWest to issue a letter of ownership just in case but I didn't need it).

Faxed the application form and the statement off to the shareholders club and received the card within two weeks.

The broker fee was £15.00 (so our 2000 shares cost us £148.00 which included the £15.00)

So how much would just the minimum 500 shares cost through natwest?

I believe the current price is 7.90 Euro per new share (100 old shares = 1 new share) so for the minimum of 5 shares to gain the shareholders club status would be 39.50 euros (approx £29.45).

Add the £15.00 brokers fee which should give you a total of £44.45

Don't forget that less than 20 shares will incur a subscription fee to the club every 2 years.

Oh ok, so they've changed it then (old shares/new shares) I looked at the link Reid gave me yesterday and on their site it still says 500 shares to join, when did they change it-do you know?
So if I bought the minimum shares, would it be worth it to book a 2 night/3 day trip? Hmm off to do a bit of math...

They changed it it December 2007. They consolidated the shares resulting in 1 new share for every 100 old shares. The shareholders club also changed their min share holdings to suit the new share numbers.

With all the benefits that the club offers (discounts on food, hotels, shows, annual passes, etc) as well as discounts from the Disney stores in the UK and Europe, then for a £65 outlay it can be good value for money.

I'm trying to figure out whether if I buy shares, will i still get 15% discount on the offer where you get a free AP for under 7 when buying an adult AP? it doesn't say discount off packages so I'd have to book tickets and hotel separately isn't it,?
Anyone done this before? Could someone make a sticky giving us advice on buying shares and then APs and how to do what and when and where...?
Please!

We're giving this some thought and would link it into the Very Useful Info sticky where you'll find a ton of information that Becky and others have put together. :goodvibes

As you'll have seen that with the consolidation some of the web-site info is not up to date. It is therefore better in these instances to ask a question on the board until everyone has a better feel of all the rules and exceptions :)

Also remember getting discounts combined can be a hit or a miss depending on the CM that you are dealing with ;)

Oh really?! Didn't know it was subjective, I assumed it was a yes or no, hmm, well still doing some maths trying to figure out what's the best thing to do.
I was just looking at dlp.info to find out the dates that you can get 30% discount on hotels but the dates seem to be out of date lol, I wonder how I could find out the special dates/discounts/hotels for this year?
How would I book room only if I buy an annuel pass?

If you buy an annual pass you ring up to book your room telling them that you have an annual pass and they take the pass number from you.

You can also do the same if you join the shareholder club and book room only - again giving your shareholder number.

The full shareholder benefits are here http://corporate.disneylandparis.com/shareholders/shareholders-club/index.xhtml

In terms of the annual pass - kids free offer - my understanding is you cannot combine both therefore to get the kids free you forfeit the adult discount but we'll be doing this next week (woo hoo this time next week I'll be in the park) so could confirm this for defo then.

On the shareholder site it says (quote taken directly from site) " Enjoy a 15% discount on Annual Passports, which grant unlimited entry to both Disneyland® Park and Walt Disney Studios® all year long. There is a range of different passports offering different advantages - for full details see www.disneylandparis.com or call directly:
0825 825 100 (Indigo Number: €0.15/mn VAT included) from France or +33 (0)1 60 30 60 69.

This Annual Passport discount is limited to Shareholders Club members and their families only (living at the same home address) and only for five Annual Passports per member per year. Cannot be combined with any other promotional or special offers. Can only be combined with the family discount (for a single family, same address, in compliance with the general conditions of Annual Passports Brochure) on Fantasy and Dream Passports. Excludes sponsorship offers"

great, so you can still get the annual pass free for under 7 if buying an adult AP?
obviously the value is better there. Thanks for that, do you know roughly how much rooms are without tickets, say at Cheyenne or HNY?
Sorry for all the repeat of old question!:scared:

I'm not sure on the prices of those. I've paid £134 for 2 nights at the Sequoia Lodge, Montana room 3 adults, 1 child room only (inc breakfast) for next week.

Reservations will be able to give you a room only price. You get a special number to call with your shareholder pack.

I have had a look at the Natwest site but it looks like you can buy hares only if you are resident in the UK :confused3
Anyone can help me if and were i could buy the shares direclty being in Italy???

You need to look for an online trader or a go to your bank in Italy to enquire about the process.
Each bank charges different commission fees so that will vary.

I can't find anywhere to buy shares, could someone tell me somewhere online that i could do it, and if you've done it online, could you tell me how easy it was? thanks

I did it with square gain. Not the best customer service and they still don't get why anyone would want to "invest" in these shares.
Fee was £7.50. You find their website with a quick search with google :)

Thank you Cyrano. I asked my parents for DLRP shares for my 18th birthday so that I could join the club, I think they may buy me 20 so I don't have to pay the shareholders fee.

I obviously won't be able to sign up for the shareholders club in time for a trip in june if my birthdays in may? Maybe I can try a realllllly cheap chistmas trip...... (thats if student funds allow.....)

Also, would I get the discount on a room with tickets or would I have to pay for tickets separately?
