Hi, hope I'm posting this in the right place.
We're planning a trip to DL Paris and are probably going to stay in the Explorers Hotel. I'm a keen jogger (but have no idea of what to expect regarding the terrain/roads) and am just wondering if there are roads around the hotel are OK for that (i.e. are there roads with a footpath around or it is all footpathless motorway) - does not have to be scenic - just safe?
Any help appreciated.

Jog !!!! i cant believe what im reading! Your going to the greatest place on earth ,the greatest show on earth,a magiical place for one and all! Leave the jogging behind for a few days immerse yourself in child like dreams and take in all that DLP has to offer...then return to the tarmac when you get back to the uk ......:):):)

Hi

Should you decide to have a little jogging distraction from all the magic, lots of the roads around the park have nice wide pavements with strips of grass or bushes between you and the traffic so ideal for walking or running. You can get into the countryside quite quickly after passing the hotels.

Thanks, very much, cherrymarzipan, that's good to know and very helpful.

chrisf1961, don't worry, any jogging will be done very early while the kids (plus Mickey and crew) are still slumbering - and I may well need the endogenous endorphins to help get me through the magic. :)

Not sure how far you like to go but it's a very pleasant route from the Explorers (one main road to cross which is never busy and pavements all the way), cut across the Santa Fe car park and jog along the Rio Grande Canal until you reach Lake Disney where you can jog round that before returning home. I don't know how long it would take you to jog but if it's any help it would take me an hour to walk it (based on the fact it takes me half an hour to walk to the parks from the Explorers).

If you want to go a bit further, turn left out of the Santa Fe entrance, past the garage, on to the roundabout where you take the first right to Magny le Hongre (this is perhaps a 30 - 40 minute walk away) which has a pretty village centre (and great boulangerie!) with lakes and woodland paths.

Not sure where the Explorers is, you might be approaching from a different direction but I think Magny is a good destination for a run.

I'm very impressed with your dedication!:yay:

And dont forget the rope drop....READY STEADY ZUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!! GO GO GO GO GO :rotfl2:

The Explorers is just set back a bit off that roundabout.

I'm impressed too ::yes:: I feel exhausted just thinking about it!

Thanks, very much, everyone, you all taking the time to reply in such detail is much appreciated. If it turns out my resolve weakens and I can't get out of bed in time, I'll be sure to fess up on this thread!
