$2,819 for four nights at Newport Bay for 3 adults (my DS14 is considered and adult) and two children. This is for July 16 through the 20- four nights and includes park tickets.

$700 a day not including food of course. Seems kind of high to me. What do you guys think?

Are there codes or AP rates. I would be willing to do the AP thing if it will lower my room rate.

Thanks! :goodvibes

There are not AP room rates as such. What you can do is get room only rate rate, as you would already have the passes.

This can vary depending on circumstances and I've seen others report that room only was dearer than package  Normal expectation is that annual passes are worth it for over 3 days.

You will need to phone to get room only rate as there is no facility to do this on the website.

As you are going at the start of high season and I'm presuming 2 rooms (3 adults 2 children) then you have picked one of the most expensive times to go. We have the same problem as a family of 5 and prefer not to take the troops out of school.

is it for 2 rooms?
Just one room at Newport Bay. It will allow me to put in 6 people but we only have 5. I heard that there are some rooms there like this.

I priced out two cheap rooms and it comes to $1,400 for each room. I'd rather do Newport Bay than do that.

Thanks for your help :goodvibes

Check out the threads on the APs - I was reading that for the Dream AP (365 access), there is a 10% off hotel room rates with the AP (that's what I remember reading, anyway.

But what also helps - AP gives you 10% off purchases and food. Family of 5 - that's going to add up quickly.

I was quoted US$641.00 for a mid-level hotel (Sequoia, I believe) for ONE person for TWO nights/three days (plus 3 days of passports).

Since I check in late on the first day (16:00 or after), and won't even be able to enter the park the day I leave, this is a waste of my "length of stay" passes.

I'm only going 2 days - but I'm buying the AP for the discounds (and an excuse to plan to go back when I have more time!!!!!).

Do you need to stay onsite the Holiday Inn is nearby and the rooms are good and much cheaper. You can then buy an AP and the whole thing should work out cheaper

I really want to stay onsite. We're flying thousands of miles to be there so I really want to do it right. The convience of being able to walk to the parks is really what I'm motivated by. I also want to keep "feeling the magic" even at our hotel. :goodvibes
