My sister is getting married in Italy. Since we will have to fly 10+ hours to Italy with a 5 year old (something I NEVER thought I would be doing)....we thought we might stop by DLP on our way home as I doubt we'll be across the pond with DS for many years (if even again).

I know July wouldn't be quite as bad as August, but I still fear the lines would be horrendous? We're used to WDW in late fall with little to no lines for rides. Will we be looking a ridiculous lines in July for each ride? Are we crazy to even think of trying this?

Official date not set yet, but probably early July. Thinking DLP Monday - Thursday.

Thank you!

Sally

Hi Sally,

We went the 14th - 21st July this year and while it was busy I wouldnt say it was crazy busy!

One morning (after EMH) we managed to walk on the carousel, tea cups and its a small world one after the other!! We couldnt believe it

I would say EMH was quite busy and we found the wait times were longer than after EMH?!

Rides like Peter Pan were 30 mins wait time during EMH whereas they were only 10 during normal park hours?!

Dumbo had wait times of about 20mins

Buzz was about 10mins if that

BTM was about 10-15mins

We even managed to walk on casey jr and story book ride!!

The longest things we waited for was Rapunzel, the princess meet and greet, orbitron, Star tours and the parachutes in Toy story playland in WDS

The weather wasnt great and it poured a few days but it didnt put anyone off, we thought it would've been quieter those days but there wasnt any difference to be honest

The last time we went was the end of Sept so we were expecting huge wait times etc for July but it really wasnt that bad and we felt that the longer opening hours and the fireworks made up for it, I loved going on rides just as it was getting dark....It was beautiful :lovestruc

We managed to get the 30% off plus an extra 15% for selected days in July so our whole week in the Cheyenne for 2 adults and 2 children (1 under 7) was 1248 :cool1:

I cant wait to get planning our next trip which will probably be Oct 2012 for my.....ahem 30th birthday, We cant wait to see the halloween decorations and go to MNSSHP :woohoo:

Hope Ive helped :flower3:

early July is generally far more manageable as far as crowds go, compared to the last week of that month for example. However, you're not guaranteed the longer summer park hours, evening parades or fireworks until near Bastille Day 14th July (this year high summer season began 9th July).
