DLP in August

My family will be visiting DLP for the day during the week of August 16th. While I know the park will be very crowded no matter when we go, has anyone seen anything on the best days of the week to go during that time of the year? I have seen info. like this for WDW.

Also, any thoughts on taking the RER back to Paris late at night (perhaps 11 pm)? Is it safe? Are there any stations in Paris that we should not get off at?

Finally, if you had a choice between either DLP or the Studios, which would it be (my boys are 15, 12 and 8 and have been to WDW multiple times, as well as Disneyland and California Adventure)?

Thanks for any help you can offer.

We went at the end of August 2 years ago and even though it was crowded it was barable. We found getting to the Magic kingdom early and doing everything until about 3pm then going over to the studios until it shuts. We then went back to the MK and finished off the park. The studios were very quiet after 3pm and we got onto everything as a walk-on. The stunt car show was really good and Rocking Roller coaster of course. Have a great trip.

Avoid Fri, Sat and Sunday. Don't know about the stations in the RER, but I went to Paris with my mother last August and we felt very safe walking around the center.

Thanks so much. Two things:
1) I thought a one day pass only allowed you to go to one park (no going back and forth)? We will only be going to DLP for a day.

2) Is your comment about Fridays based on your impression, experience, something you read?

Hi,

I forgot that you cannot park hop. However if you buy a 1 day ticket and spend the day at the studios, you are allowed to go to the MK from 5pm onwards using the same ticket.

www.disneylandparis.co.uk for details. It is under the 1 day ticket information that does not have free delivery.

The park is open until 11pm, so that would give you 6 hours in the MK. If you have small children then this may not be an option.

The Fri/Sat/Sun was info recieved from friends who run tours to DLP and they said they are the busy days. Sunday is not to bad and a lot of people are traveling home. Fri/Sat are the times when locals etc visit. We went in August last time and we are again this year it is not that bad. Since our children were small we went in early and did all the fantasy land rides and then left that area and did other things. We made use of fast pass and didn't expect to do everything in one day. I would just pick and choose your rides and enjoy the atmosphere.

There is about 10 attractions at the studios that will take some time viewing and they are all quite good. A lot of people have said they don't like the studios, but we really enjoyed them. Check out the site and you will be able to see what is there.

Thanks. It's nice to know that August is doable for a day. I have been to Disney World and Disneyland in Summer and while they get crowded, both are okay if you know how to do them. Does your friend's advice on Friday/Saturday/Sunday apply specifically to August or is it general, all year advice? I ask becasue I understand that attendance patterns during school holidays are different (for example, Wednesday's are bad most of the year but not during school holidays).

It was mainly all year, as people tend to use it as a weekend getaway.

Since you a know how busy the parks can get, you will be able to handle the crowds using all the lessons learned from the other parks.

Have a great trip, anything else you want to know just ask.
