Not too sure if this has already been posted, but an interesting article has appeared on the Disney and more blog about the future of DLP. It mentions possible new attractions at the Magic Kingdom and the WDS, Hotels, Disney Village, etc...

Have a read here.

Wow!

Now if all that really does happen then we certainly will have a DLRP that we can all be truly proud of. I'd imagine that the financial situation will stop a lot of this from coming true (well in the next 5 years anyway) however I'm sure that we will certainly see a few new attractions for both parks for the 20th.

That said if the reported 500-800million euros of investment is true then we could certainly see the whole lot heading to DLRP!

hmm... Splash mountain or Indiana Jones?

Surely that has to be a no brainer. The park already as an IJ themed ride and has no decent water ride.

My personal vote on this would go towards splash mountain. Unfortunately, that's been talked about since the dawn of time and never seems to happen, so I'm not personally getting my hopes up...

If it did happen, then :worship:

It sounds promising but remember these are just rumours so until i hear it from the big cheese i will not get excited....well ok maybe i can get a weeny bit excited. lol

Does sound interesting. I had to laugh at the shareholder who doesn't really want it if they have to pay for it. They obviously don't realise that they have already invested in the company therefore will be paying for it just not having to put up anymore money & these changes can only be good. Eventually we may start having dividends paid on the shares we own. as much as I would like Splash mountain, it is not a viable all year round ride for DLRP due to the weather. We have water rides in the UK but our theme parks shut for the winter whereas Disney doesn't. Therefore I would rather see the money spent on something that can stay open for most if not all the year.

I think the Village is next inline for a revamp as that was the plan after they did the financial restructure in that 1 new ride will be opened in the MK & 3 new rides in WDS followed by work on the village in 2009.

.

Without trying to sound confrontational, I'm not sure how true that is. When DLRP built Splash Mountain in Tokyo, they patented a new, special boat design which minimises the splash.

If they used these boats for a Paris version, then I think it would be perfectly viable - they could run normal boats in the summer, then use the special splash-reducing ones in the winter :thumbsup2

I've been to Tokyo Disneyland although I confess I can't remember what times of year but it would have varied. Have no recollection of being frozen on Splash Mountain. So while I can't comment specifically on that ride, having lived in Japan for 3 years I can confirm that it does get mighty cold in winter!

If DLP had Soarin and Splash Mountain I may never go back to WDW :thumbsup2
