DLP buggies

My DS1 (5.5yrs) has limited motor skills and tires very easily. He won't be able for all the walking in the parks, but he's too big for our buggy.
I'm considering renting a buggy at DLP. Anyone here ever do that? Are they quite big?
Our DS2 will probably need a buggy too! :-/

they are very big - i've seen 7 and 8 year olds in them at DLP .
They are sturdy and they don't recline. They are 9 euros each per day to hire, and you can't take them out of the park.

Thanks for that. I wonder would I be able to fit both boys in it?
Pity you can't take them out of the park, we're staying in Hotel New York so it would be handy to be able to walk there.

All I have is 2 small strollers. DS1 is very slight but too tall for them. DS2 is a bit if a pudding! I suppose we'll just bring one buggy and rent one for a day and see how it goes.

Phil and teds are good for up to a 6 year old ( google it )
I have a very old one a lady from net mums gave me I had it parcel forced up to me it's old but works great.
I had both my boys in it in london in August last year at 5.5.

Pushed them both round the zoo in it.
Its 15 euro a day for stroller hire.
Or you could buy a child dream pass from eBay get stroller hire free and the other perks xx

Just to add you can get the buggy free with a dream pass and you can take them out of the park if you pay a deposit. If I remember right it was about ¬75 and of course you get it back when you return it at the end of the stay

We had a petite star Zia & it was great. Very light & folds up small. Perfect for pushing & very roomy for my ds. I'd only put one child @ a time in it though. It reclines too.

I'm in Ireland though! But it would be as cheap to buy a second hand buggy as to rent one in DLP. I might be able to borrow something either.

Kizzabel, I have a petit star zia aswell! that's what we brought the last time. it's wide enough but if he sits in it his head is touching the hood IYKWIM? I'll bring it for DS2 anyway

I get you! My DS is short so he had loads of room. If you have a look in some charity shops you may find one. I saw a perfect zia for €20 in a charity shop in Wexford just before Christmas! So you could come across something suitable. Maybe try rollercoaster.ie & done deal too.

I'm in Dublin. I have a Maclaren Quest here that you're welcome to take . I bought it 2nd hand from an online seller who didn't tell me it had no shoulder straps so its not safe for my little baba. But perfectly fine for an older child. I've been thinking of donating it to a charity shop but you can have it if its any use to you? Maybe use it then donate it yourself?
It's black & cream colour with rain cover. Reclines and works fine.

Otherwise I have a girls teenage wheelchair with pink wheels full of bratz stickers but I don't think your boy would appreciate that

Thanks so much Rosabelle, you're very kind. I think I'm going to try get a double stroller, either borrow or buy cheaply. The thoughts of going through airports with 2 buggies, 2 suitcases and 2 trunkis is a bit daunting! :-D

Would you consider checking in 1 big case, not taking trunkies & just have little backpacks for the boys with you own handbag?

I have 1 in a w/chair & 1 in a buggy and have learned how to streamline travel . Those trunkies look fab (my dd has one) but they are not practical with buggies.
I only ever have my handbag and each child takes 1 Little bag or nothing on board. It's hard enough manoeuvring through crowds without hauling stuff behind too! I happily pay the extra to check luggage in for the comfort it brings .

the city mini doubles are supposed to come up big, though not tried them personally yet! have a trawl through gumtree etc to see if anyone is selling anything that could be useful 2nd hand.

And I've already paid for 2 suitcases to be checked.
I find the trunkis handy for cabin baggage.
