Day 4
Todays plan is for La Vallee for some retail therapy! So after a nice relaxing brekkie where Pluto was in attendance (Didnt have the camera with us as we didnt realise characters would be there!) we ask the CM's to arrange for a bus to take us ot the shopping! I have to say the CM's in castle club are excellant! I was amazed and jealous of their linguistic skills (Some of them speaking up to 5 languages!), and their service is second to none. Anyhow the wait for the bus was around 45min so we waited in the lounge with a cuppa before meeting the bus at the main reception.
Cost of the bus E5 per adult return. We spent the rest of the day wandering around the outlet mall and the main mall. I manage to pick up a pair of ralph lauren trousers E40, a tommy hilfiger skirt E40 and a pair of reebok trainers E30. Hubbie manages to get a pair of jeans, E70, from a brand called Falconnable (I've not heard of them) anyhow they do jean sizes in inch increments rather than the usual 2", Hubbie very impressed by this!
We have a slap up lunch in McDonalds, and then wander round the main mall, not much took our fancy in here, but I think if we'd have bought the car we would have stocked up at the supermarket before leaving!
Dinner tonight was at the California grill in the hotel. We've been to the California Grill in the Contempory Resort at WDW as well, so we were looking forward to comparing the two. We had made reservations, so on arrival at the resaturant I was about to speal out my bestest French about how I had a reservation....But the nice lady said to us "Mr and Mrs Joy?" (Does Disney do a mind reading class or something?) Anyhow we get a nice big table for four between the two of us near to the open plan kitchen so we can see whats going on.
All of the menu looks tempting, but we both settle on the french onion soup to start. I go for the steak for main course and hubbie has the lobster (We have expensive taste!). The soup is delicious and not overpowering on the onion. My steak is huge! But delicious none the less, only thing tastier was the potatoes served with it. I'm not a lover of lobster but hubbie loved it!
For desert I settle on the Lemon selection plate, and hubbie has the Apple Calvados plate. All MMMMMMMM.
Dinner here was not cheap (E157) but the food was excellant and the best meal i've ever had at DLP. The only similarity in the two california grills at DLP and WDW is the name and the Disney locations. CG at DLP definitely has a french air and flavour to the menu, whilst CG at WDW sticks more to it's California name for it's menu inspiration. Both restaurants are good in their own right.
And so off to the land of nod, tomorrow the Studios.
