Hubby and I are doing a 3 night package at DL in Oct. Oct 13-16th and are at PP. I have wanted to stay at DLH but it is a $300 difference in price! Is it really worth staying there and spending an extra $300. :rotfl:

I will be staying at PP for my first time in a couple of weeks and will be able to answer this better then.

However, I have an inkling of things, saying maybe not. The very nice benefit of DLH is being steps away from the monorail and DTD. If it's just you and he and walking is no big deal, than that may be moot (as opposed to say having kids in tow).

What I expect I'll like about staying at PP is that I love Japanese food, so staying there with the restaruant downstairs should be perfect for me. Also, I think maybe I'll enjoy a walk or two through GC to CA instead of going to and from the monorail all the time.

I definitely prefer the DLH over PPH, but wouldn't pay $100 more, at least for comparable rooms. Do you know what you are comparing, room/view wise?

The difference in price between a standard room at PPH and a standard room at DLH is typically around $30/night. The difference is a little higher for a view room and a whole lot more for a conceirge. The rates vary a lot depending upon demand, but $100/night more for a standard or view room still that doesn't seem right for Oct. Perhaps DLH is already booked up for some special event, and so you are being quoted a view room and/or higher rates due to demand, compared to a standard room at PPH. One compromise is to book a view room at PPH overlooking DCA.

I agree with Calgal. I do prefer the DLH, however not to the tune of $100 per night. I also think for two adults, the PP might be nice, the pool area is more low key. The DLH pool is what draws so many families there and while I love it, it can be hectic. My two stays at PP, the pool was basically not crowded at all. If you do go with PP, I would really suggest you upgrade to a theme park view room. They are incredible and so worth the extra money. Sometimes you can be upraded for free but you never know. I would personally stick with PP and save the money. The walk is not much further for two adults. And the PP rooms are very nice and spacious with a comfy couch that makes into a bed (which you will not need).

I haven't stay at DLH so I can't compare the two but we stayed at PP and we loved it. Upon arrival we were upgraded to Park View room which made our day. Don't worry about the distance to the park. All you do is cross the street, head into GCH and there are short cuts that take you directly to DD (exit is by Libby Lou) or private entrance to CA. DD 6 and DS 2 were easily able to walk the distance. The pool area looks much nicer at DLH but PP pool did the job. DD loved the water slide.:)

No it is not worth $100 per night more. Like the others have said, I would take DLH over PP, but it depends on the price. I think the park view room at PP is one of the best rooms available at any of the three hotels. An older, parking lot view room at DLH would be worth less to me than the PP view room. Good luck deciding and have a great trip:)

DLH is better then PP but not worth an extra $300, afterall it's just a room and how much time are you actually gonna spend in the room? Not much probably.

The park view rooms at PP are really nice. That was the best part of the weekend trip we just took.
