DLH Using DVC Points

I read another thread that asked if you can use DVC points to book a room at DLH. Looking at the link to the 2007 point chart for other Disney resorts, it looks like I'd need 57 points for a 3 night stay April 22-25 2007 (19 points a night for standard view). It would actually be cheaper if I bought points from somebody (let's say at $10 a point) and had them make the reservation for me then to book directly with the hotel. I had to book a room offsite because I could not justify the extra cost but this might just work out for me if I could make it happen.

My question: how easy is it for somebody to get me a room at DLH if I rent points from them? It sounds like it's not done very often since it's not really economical to use DVC points at DL hotels.

If I put a thread in the rent/trade section, how should I word it? Reservation wanted at DLH or Points Needed??

Any info would be appreciated. My only problem is that part of me is leary renting from somebody KWIM?

I don't have any extra points myself :wizard: but I wanted to let you know that it is very easy to make reservations at DLH using points! It should be no problem for the owner that you rent from at all. We have stayed there on points quite often, as as the rooms at DLH keep going up in price, it becomes more and more worth it.

Don't forget that if you stay on points you do not have to pay the resort fee! That does add up too.

thanks for the info. I think that I will try to rent points from somebody--this is our first trip to DL (been to WDW though) but I'd love to be able to afford to stay onsight.

My question is why would any one want to dish out any more out of pocket money to rent pts when you have pts that you already are paying for?

We used out pts. for our latest stay at DL and GC over Christmas week. :confused3

I'm not a DVC member. I own a timeshare in Florida which is why I have yet to buy any points. I have a good neighbor hotel booked but think that if I rent points from somebody I might actually be able to stay onsight...does that make sense?

OK...I understand now. Just in case you really want to know how much the DL hotels cost....just go to www.disneyland.com website and type in the days and hotel you plan to stay at. This will give you a idea how the room rates are. Then that will let you know if you are getting a good deal thru renting pts. or not.

Keep in mind when comparing that using points you pay no resort fees or taxes.
